Hi, I was wondering if anyone uses the Mamia baby products such as shampoo, lotion, wipes and nappies etc from aldi and if so, would you recommend them? I am wanting to stock up on a few bits but want to be sure of what I was getting.

I was going to get Johnson's but they are very pricey, but am concerned Mamia may not be as gentle to sensitive skin.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated thank you😊xx

Baby wipes nappies at. Are great my love has very sensitive skin and didn't get on with the wash and shampoo but didn't get on with Johnson's either, we use simple or other very gentle stuff

Daisy2990 · 27/08/2018 10:14

Never like the smell of the wipes but we found the nappies were the best to avoid leaks - this was 3-5 years ago, hopefully they've not changed!

I use the sensitive wipes and nappies. I think they are as good as pampers, I think the nappies are actually better. With nappies though, different brands fit different babies better with regards to leaks etc so don't stock up on too many before baby arrives.
Lotions, shampoos etc - very small babies don't need them, warm water is fine for baths. When they start weaning and get covered in food you can start using baby bath etc.

I use the nappies and wipes for my youngest 2, my eldest 2 had pampers and I can see no difference at all

Babies don’t need lotions and potions though, it’s bad for their skin (Johnson’s being amongst the worst things you can put on a baby) just warm water will do in the bath for the first few months

FuckyDuzz · 27/08/2018 10:19

Oh X post with NannyR we basically said the same thing BlushGrin

I have found mamia sensitive wipes and nappies the best!

I started on water wipes which caused a nappy rash as they were so wet, then tried Huggies pure which my baby reacted badly too as well!

Tried Aldi sensitive wipes and haven't had a single rash or irritation! Used them since DD was 4 weeks. Now 20 weeks!

I've always used their nappies and had no issues!

I honestly found the nappies (and pullups) far better than other brands, the fact they were also cheaper was an added bonus! Maybe DS was just the right shape for them. I also used (from memory) the wipes, baby shampoo (still using the same bottle we've had about 3 years!), baby lotion (for me) and baby bath - all great.

flowerlamp · 27/08/2018 10:31

I use the wipes and nappies and sacks. All brilliant. Never had any issues. My niece uses the bath lotions she has used them since she was a baby and will be 3 in November and my brother and sil say it's amazing. They also used the nappies etc and never had any issues. I have not needed to use the lotions yet as family bought us a different brand but once they have run out i will try there lotions as well. X

I’ve used the nappies and wipes and they’re great.

Don’t stock up on nappies though - not all nappies suit all babies so i would buy some packs for the first few days but not buy lots

Poppins2016 · 27/08/2018 10:35

I can't vouch for them personally, yet, as I'm 36 weeks pregnant and in the 'stocking up' stage... However I have bought some nappies on a friends recommendation, they had their first baby a few weeks ago and use Aldi/Mamia nappies with no issues. Much cheaper than pampers etc.!

I recent bought some vests and sleepsuits from Aldi, too. You have to rummage a bit to find the 'nice' (subjective, I know) patterns, but the quality is great and they're good value.

kirta · 27/08/2018 10:36

I love the nappies. If you have a lidl near you, it's worth checking out their lupilu nappies and wipes. We swear by them. So cost effective and work well on my baby. I have also used their baby bath stuff and nappy cream. All ok!

beccii161016 · 27/08/2018 11:56

We've used wipes, nappies and baby snacks (biscuits etc). The wipes are by far the best I've tried. The only sensitive wipes that don't burn my face (and so I'd assume DS' bottom) but get the job done. Also, we converted from Pampers to Mamia nappies after a free sample and never went back. No rashes, no leaking. I can't speak highly enough of them x

Verbena87 · 27/08/2018 12:00

Haven’t tried the mamia stuff though I have friends who love it, but our little one has eczema and Johnson’s stuff is dreadful for it. We use weleda calendula bath stuff (expensive, but great and lasts ages unless you’re like me and keep using it yourself because it smells so nice!) and got some moisturising cream prescribed by the GP for dry skin.

AshBluex · 27/08/2018 14:34

Thank you all so much, I really appreciate it😊 xx

I'm usi g mania nappies and wipes on my almost 5 week old dd, and haven't had a single leak yet and no irritation. I'm also using the aldi formula which is also great and a great price.

Sandstormbrewing · 28/08/2018 09:05

Definitely the wipes and nappies. Babies don't need shampoo and lotion etc for a fair while (we didn't use either for at least 6 years).

Sandstormbrewing · 28/08/2018 09:06

6 months! Not 6 years!
