Friend with PCOS trying to get pregnant

My friend and her wife are trying to conceive through a sperm donor. She has PCOS which obviously makes getting pregnant a lot harder. She hadn't had a period for around 5 months when she done an ovulation test the day before getting a donation. The ovulation test was positive and in the two years they have been together, she has never had a positive ovulation test

Around 3-4 weeks after the donation, she got her period after 5 months of not having one. Could this be a sign of pregnancy or just a weird coincidence?

Well getting your period is not exactly known as a reliable sign of pregnancy, and would happen following ovulation anyway. She should take a test but it seems unlikely. I would think it's more likely she had an LH surge at the time they had the donation but didn't ovulate until two week or so later.

Is she working to regulate her cycle and/or talking to a doctor - eating low carb, losing weight, getting hormones checked?

Thats true. I just found it a bit strange haha.
Shes on medication to try and get a regular cycle but isn't having regular periods

After the first donation they decided to wait a few months to start trying again as they're having financial issues. She has lost a little bit of wait but isnt in regular touch with a doctor to check hormones

If it hadn’t been done yet I’d recommend ovarian drilling. I hadn’t ovulated in 7 months, then boom! Pregnant a month after the op.

I used inofolic, helped me.

Low sugar diet and Myo inistitol. That’s all that helped me.

You're asking if her getting her period is a sign of her being pregnant?

No. I don't know if it was a period or spotting. I just think it was a weird coincidence her bleeding 4 weeks after getting a donation when she hasn't bled in 5 months.
