Brown spotting at 5 weeks

I've had 3 early miscarriages in the last year and am now 5 weeks pregnant again. I've had brown spotting for the last couple of days, which is getting heavier and thicker and can't help thinking I'm about to miscarry again as my others started with red/Brown spotting. Has anyone else had this and it's ended up being okay? In particular has anyone had it after also having early miscarriages and it ended up working out?

I had 2 early miscarriages, then a 3rd successful pregnancy. In the 3rd one I had brown spotting at 5 weeks and a little more at 8 weeks.

I am currently 7+2 weeks and have been bleeding on and off since 4 weeks. Had 2 scans so far and seen a heartbeat on both, latest was only today.

Try to stay positive but I know how worrying it is. If you can get to 6 weeks there is a good chance of seeing a heartbeat on a scan so ask your GP to refer you to your EPU for reassurance.

Thank you for replying, that's reassuring to hear. It's so stressful isn't it?! I'll see if I can get an early scan, although I expect they'll wait until at least 6 weeks if they say yes.

I had an early miscarriage at 5 weeks and then again with both of my DC and everything was fine. I had an early scan with DD as that was my 1st pregnancy after the miscarriage and the sonographer told me it's a really common time for further implantation. Lo and behold it happened again with DS pretty much to the day! It went on for a good few weeks so was a nerve wracking time but all was good in the end both times. Good luck to you Flowers

Sorry that should say i had the brown spotting with both at 5 weeks.

I had brown spotting from 5-9 weeks on and off, id say avoid sex for now but it can be very common in early pregnancy. Try not to worry (although you probably will!)

And yes as mentioned above ^ the sonographer also told me alot is imbedding in your womb at the moment which can easily cause spotting.

Thank you all, it's reassuring to hear it's not always bad news.

I had two MMC last year with no spotting. Currently 27 weeks and I had some pink implantation spotting at 4 weeks then again I had a little at 5 weeks. I thought I was miscarrying when I saw it but obviously not Smile. Hope all is ok for you.

I have had pink/brown spotting with all my pregnancies, for some women it can be fairly common. I also had a mild bleed scare with my last pregnancy at 10 weeks and they found a small bleed in the placenta, my ds is 14 months old now so it doesn't always mean the worst. Wishing the best for you OP Flowers
