So many people around my age (22, 23 when baby is due) Smile

Had my glucose tolerance test today, bloody awful, I'm seriously bad with needles so unless the birth goes completely smoothly I'm going to freak out about it again.

@user1906 I'm having a boy! I can not wait for him to be here. I can't believe how fast this pregnancy has gone. 23 weeks at the min. I'm sure he will be here in no time!!

I'm soooo nervous about the birth! I was hoping for a water
birth but not sure if I'd be able to cope off just gas and air!

user1906 · 02/08/2018 17:42

@Sunflower2018 lovely! I know the feeling, im 30 weeks tomorrow and cant wait to meet her!!

I would love a water birth but theres only one at my local hospital, i hope i get lucky🤗 not sure how i'll cope with the pain but im open minded and will have lots of support. Every other woman gets through it eh!

Is anyone else wondering how they will survive on SMP?? My fiancee will still be working and has a well paid job, working for a big firm in our city, so all bills etc will be fine in theory i just have guilt on the brain🙄 nothing to do with him mind!!

olderthanyouthink · 03/08/2018 11:22

@user1906 I'm a little worried about money while on maternity pay, BF has a good job at a huge company so between us it should in theory be fine it's just a little disconcerting to have my income drop by about £1000 a month and then stop completely if we do the full year. Depending on how it goes might swap with BF so he can have the last bit, if we have enough saved up to cover it.

user1906 · 03/08/2018 11:50

@olderthanyouthink i feel the same as you. In theory we should be fine and my other half is cool as a cucumber. Maybe its the added hormones making me worry!

Thanks for your reply, its good to know im not the only one x

RhiannaMay · 03/08/2018 15:56

I’m 17 and my twin girls are being delivered within the next week and a half! You get a lot of stick for being a young mum and I always feel a bit out of place when posting on these sites as there never seems to be many young people. All first time mums are in the same boat, I have my own place with my partner, we both work full time, only thing i’m Doing differently is the age at which i’m Starting a family so really don’t get what some people’s problem is! (sorry, bit of a rant lol)

Katy96 · 03/08/2018 18:13

@RhiannaMay I know exactly how you feel. I work in retail and the number of customers I’ve had say to me ‘aren’t you a bit young to be pregnant’ is really starting to wind me up... what’s it got to do with them how old I am? They wouldn’t be saying that to someone in their 30’s so what makes them think they can tell me I’m too young to be having a baby?!

Good luck with the delivery of your twins and I hope it all goes well!!😊

SavanahXx · 03/08/2018 18:19

hi all, I'm 19, this is my third pregnancy, had 2 MMC which where awful, but now I'm 20 weeks pregnant with a healthy little girl, due 17th December me and my partner couldn't be happier Smile hope everyone's pregnancies are going great Flowers x

RhiannaMay · 03/08/2018 18:22

Oh my gosh yes!! Before going on mat leave I was training to be a dispensing optician and the amount of people who said something was ridiculous! I’d dispense glasses which is the retail side, and only a couple of people had said things, but then going into clinical tests and it being 1 on 1, it got so much worse! Ended up working in the labs for my last month or so there because I couldn’t bite my tongue any longer 😂

And thankyou! Hope you do well with your pregnancy too ❤️

olderthanyouthink · 04/08/2018 09:02

@user1906 no problem. I just quietly do that maths to show that it should be fine to reassure myself every now and then 😳

@RhiannaMay good luck with the birth, I hope it all goes well!

The age thing bugs me because I know people 10+ years older than me who wouldn't find it any easier anyway. Tbf though it's earlier than I'd have planned but 🤷‍♀️ just have to get on with it.

Anyone just a little worried about what it's going to be like going back to work? Hoping to limit the knock on my career but I don't know how I'll feel in a year and a bit and when I go back I will likely have a completely different team and a new manager 😖

El1995 · 04/08/2018 22:10

22 and bubs is 3 months old :3 mummy life is good, I mingle with everyone in my mum groups regardless of age, most of the people I hang out with are in their 30s or 40s :3 pregnancy was pretty smooth, hope you're doing okay! I was 21 when I found out I was preggo x
