How long did your GTT results take

Hi ladies, just wondering the above really.

My mum has type 1 diabetes and my dad has type 2, as well as kidney problems so I'm half assuming I'll get it GD.

I dodged it with DS1 but did get preeclampsia at the end and I had to be induced. So far I have not got preeclampsia with his pregnancy (I know these aren't related).

Also, for those of you that have hd GD, did you have to be induced or have a c-section?

And if so what were the reasons and how far into pregnancy were you induced?

I had my test in the morning and had finished by 10.30am. My results were ready by about 2.45pm when I saw the consultant. I don't have any issues even though my dad had diabetes.

I had my GTT at 9.30am yesterday morning and had the results by 5.30pm. Unfortunately mine showed a higher blood sugar count which I need to discuss with my midwife next week.

Thanks for your answers. I just got told my midwife would be in touch. This was Monday morning I had my GTT and I don't have midwife until 31st!

At my hospital they said if you hadn't heard anything in a week they were ok, and its been nearly 4!

I got my results the next morning, I had GD. I was already having a c section at 39 weeks due to mental health reasons.

Midwife called with my results the next morning. The fact you haven't heard anything by now would suggest you dont have it. But you could call the hospital and ask for the results.

I was told that having gestational diabetes doesn't automatically mean i will be induced or have a section. Its very much on a case by case basis. Some women are induced but alot are left to go into labour on their own. It really depends on a number of different factors.

In first pregnancy i waited in the waiting room after and they gave the result there and then. This time different hospital it’s if you don’t hear in 5 days it’s clear. I was induced first time as matter of routine for GD at 39 weeks.
