Hey all. I'm 20+4, overweight (high BMI) and not felt anything yet. Feeling a bit down about it tbh. When did you start to feel flutters/kicks etc?

I felt them incredibly early (it’s extremely rare, so don’t worry about it) but I am naturally quite skinny and have weird anatomy that means ultrasound scans have to be internal, so my experience isn’t the norm by any stretch. It’s very normal with a first baby to not feel them until after 20 weeks :)

On my first pregnancy I didn't really feel it until about 24 weeks and even then I just thought it was wind 😂 I've got a high bmi. Did they say anything at the scan ? Could be your placenta in the way and not feeling much because of that. I'm on my second pregnancy now and was feeling movement from 16 weeks this time around x

I first felt movement around 20 weeks with an anterior placenta. It was a very subtle muscle twitching sort of sensation and was always very low down. By about 25 weeks they were a lot stronger and higher.

Thanks for the replies. I had a scan at 19+5, all seemed ok but have been asked to go back this Friday so they could check on a couple of things with baby being a bit bigger (will be 21+2 by then). Sonographer confirmed I have an anterior placenta. FTM and just generally feeling a bit anxious.

I think I started feeling them around 19 weeks (first pregnancy). They felt like little muscle spasms every now and then (like a few a day) and mainly when I was lying on my stomach. I wasn't sure if they were movements until later on (i'm 23 weeks now) when they happen regularly enough and feel the same that I realise in retrospect that they were kicks earlier on too.

Around 20 weeks with an anterior placenta. I'm 23 weeks and felt them a lot more strongly about a week ago.
