Baby was due Friday 6th July, still no sign. I have an appointment tomorrow with the midwife. Is she likely to offer a sweep? I don't want one yet if I can avoid it. Are you able to say no? What else is she likely to do?

You can certainly refuse a sweep but there isn't really anything else they can do to move things along ahead of the various stages of induction.

I had one at 41 weeks last week and she said things looked favourable...and I gave birth within 24 hours.

I was offered a sweep last Friday when I was 3 days overdue. I declined. It wasn't a problem at all, and the midwife said she'd have done the same in my shoes, as it does seem things are moving in the right direction for me. I have however agreed to a sweep this Friday if I'm not in labour by then. I will be overdue by 10 days at that point.

Thanks both. I will refuse tomorrow but I'll agree to one mid next week if nothing has happened by then. Is she likely to have a look at anything tomorrow or perform an examination of some kind?

I think she would be quite likely to offer to have a look (Google Bishop score).
