Smoking test

Hi. Me and my OH have our first appointment in the fertility clinic on Thursday and I know there is going to be a smoking test. I don’t smoke but my OH has stopped but stupidly on Friday had 2 cigarettes. I can’t stop worrying now incase he fails. Is he likley to. I’m so so worried

I can't say for definite but I would imagine If your tube needs removing they would still remove but delay funding, as a blocked tube is a gynae issue as well as a fertility issue, some blocked tubes they leave though as it depends if there's signs of hydrosalpinx. Are you sure he is telling the truth about it just being a couple? It can effect sperm and fertilisation rates so if you think he may have been having more consider delaying the appt for a few months

Nobody has even contacted me about my tube either. The lady I seen in gynae referred me for a HSG then discharged me straight away because I was on the fertility waiting list and she’s left now so if I didn’t have this appt I would just be left.
Deep down I hope he hasn’t and he says he hasn’t so going to have to believe him. Would kill me having to wait longer ontop of the 18 months we would prob have to wait

Maybe if you are going straight to IVF they don't need to remove the tube?

Is there someone you can call to find out exactly what treatment you're having?

Also try your best not to worry (I know it's hard) but you need as little stress as possible if you're about to embark on IVF.

I called the secretary of the consultant whose taken over the old consultants Work and she said that because I got a appt in fertility just to wait and they should discuss it would me so I hope that’s what’s going to happen. Do u know if this is the case? Not sure if IUI works with a blocked tube or not. I know, if this appt is positive I will definetly feel less worried than I am but I feel sick with worry all I’m doing is crying because of it
