Anterior placenta and movements

Hi!

Just wondered how much movement those of you with anterior placentas feel? I’m currently 21 weeks and I do feel bits of movement on and off but nothing regular yet. I know movements can be harder to feel with a anterior placenta so I’m not sure what to expect with regards to how much I should be feeling? Does it really mask it that much? If you’re a bit further along how do you know if you’re experiencing reduced movements or if it’s just because of the placenta? Sorry for the barrage of questions im a FTM so probably worrying about nothing!

Same as you! I feel flutters a few times a day but not very strongly. I'm 22 weeks on Tuesday. I'm trying not to worry about it for another couple of weeks as I think it's more worrying if they get strong and regular then stop a bit later on.

I'm 26 weeks on Tuesday with an anterior placenta, and only really feel him kicking around the sides. As he's got stronger, I feel more at the front - quite a lot of the time, I see my tummy move rather than actually feel that much. I was the same at 21 weeks - felt the odd irregular kick. I think it was 23 weeks till hubby could feel them.

I downloaded the Kicks Count app yesterday to start getting into the habit, and reached 11 sessions - I guess the idea is that you get used to what's normal for your baby with the reduced movements.

It makes a huge difference, I had anterior with my first and posterior with my current pregnancy. I didn't feel movement until 22 weeks with my first and baby never seemed to have a routine although the movements did get bigger, she would often have a really busy day followed by a really quiet one. I felt movement early at 14 weeks with current one and much more clearly.

You can't really know if movements are reduced or being masked by the placenta, you'll sort of her to know what's normal for you, but advice is always the same, if you're concerned get checked.
