Migraines in pregnancy

Has anyone else suffered or is suffering from migraines? I've just been to Dr after having the worst pain in my face for the last week and after being awake all night and telling my husband to put me down because i couldn't take it anymore. I've previously had the same pain at the start of my pregnancy and was told it was neuralgia and there was nothing that could be done until baby was born but Dr has changed her mind and now thinks it's migraines and has given me aspirin 75mg for a week and asked me to go back next week. Anyone else taken this whilst pregnant? I'm now 25 weeks

I got them before pregnancy and had one at 6 weeks, now 8 weeks. Pharmacy told me only paracetamol was safe. I agonised before taking just one. I'd rather put up with the migraine rather than risk taking anything again. Easier said than done. Praying it's a one-off!

I had a couple of migraines at very beginning of my pregnancy. I took paracetamol, tiger balm on temples (I was v sceptical but would try anything and was soothing) and used the cool forehead strips which were actually really good and lasted hours. Hope you feel better soon x

Had an optical migraine last week, used to get them when I took the combined pill and once I stopped so did the migraines so I think mine are hormone induced. I’ve taken paracetamol for them, doesn’t make a bit of difference. I found that an ice pack or even something like a bag of frozen peas helps the best, as well as sleep, avoiding white light, and wearing glasses if you need teem. Problem with migraines is that you need to take strong meds as soon as the first sign hits or they won’t make much of a difference - in my experience anyway! But you can’t do that while pregnant, so just try what they prescribed and update us if it helps!

Ice packs have worked for me, also got one of those 4head menthol sticks and also a bit of strong coffee.

I've taken one of the aspirin today and feel so much better and like I'll actually sleep tonight. I still have a niggling feeling but hoping it won't turn back into a migraine just yet. Going to take Drs advice and take them for a week and then see what she says next week. I'm guessing it is hormone related as never suffered with them before getting pregnant and also the heat hasn't helped. Thanks for your suggestions I'll get some of the cool pack things
