Why does no where stock decent maternity clothes?!

So I purchased a gorgeous pair of shorts from Peacocks last week - maternity but really stylish. They only have 1 style available and no where else seems to stock ANYTHING remotely wearable!

Where have you got your lovely maternity clothes from? Mainly in need of shorts - don’t want denim. Too restrictive and hot! Any in store?! Or does everything maternity have to be orders online?!

I got most of mine from H&M, it was the only place on the high street I could find anything nice!

Tryingtogetitright · 02/07/2018 17:11

Have you tried New Look, Dorothy Perkins and Matalan?

Tryingtogetitright · 02/07/2018 17:11

Think most of them you need to order online :-(

Nothisispatrick · 02/07/2018 17:12

I got nearly all my stuff from asos but that is order online

SoyDora · 02/07/2018 17:13

H&M, ASOS and New Look for summer stuff.

Havetothink · 02/07/2018 17:19

Pretty much all online, I think h&m and debenhams were the only places near me that had anything in store. Ebay, amazon, jojomamanbabe, next, newlook, asos, Dorothy Perkins all online. Maternity underwear is not much better to get hold of in shops.

SnuggyBuggy · 02/07/2018 17:22

I don't think I bought a single item in a shop. Ordered everything online or adapted what I already had

CanaBanana · 02/07/2018 17:24

They are virtually all online. Massively annoying when your shape has changed and you need to try on! Asos is free delivery and returns. Hit the credit card and get them returned before your bill comes in!

Mummy081212 · 02/07/2018 17:35

It’s so frustrating isn’t it! Made up with the Peacocks ones! They fit so nice.

I’ve got ASOS Premier but they only have 2 styles in my size in stock! It’s super annoying!

Waiting on a delivery from Matalan (denim though - don’t really want denim). Going to order a couple of pairs from New Look also.

Thanks for the advice!

I got a couple of pairs of shorts from asda online that look similar but it was earlier in the year. Gap online have some good choices but be aware that they come up huge!

Its frustrating that it's all online. H and M always seem to have some in store and I'm sure that's why their mat clothes are so popular.

choccybuttonshelpeverything · 02/07/2018 17:49

I feel your pain. I need cool light weight trousers over bump! Haven't found anything remotely suitable to cover my fat bloated legs 😢

Lindah1 · 02/07/2018 17:49

Mothercare have a good selection

hammeringinmyhead · 02/07/2018 18:00

The only store that has anything in stock near me is New Look and, in a nearby city, H&M. It's too expensive to buy enough stock to go into stores when you can just stock one warehouse for online.

Havetothink · 02/07/2018 18:16

Mothercare near me had no maternity clothes in store, I think it should be renamed Babycare.

SoyDora · 02/07/2018 18:19

The mothercare near me has maternity wear but it’s shit.

MrsCrumbtious · 02/07/2018 20:48

H&M seems to be the only shop near me which has maternity clothes and it’s only 2 rails of clothes. So frustrating when you need to try things on

Sunshinegirl82 · 02/07/2018 21:20

Jojo stock the most stuff in store, seraphine have a few shops depending on where you're located.

Flamingo84 · 02/07/2018 21:20

George at ASDA online has a decent range of great maternity clothes. They had a few pairs of cotton shorts on there last month. They do a wide range with a few options on styles.

For dresses/tops I’ve bought some from the Happy Mamma Boutique and they are perfect for cheap and cheerful wear. Wore a nursing dress from there and had loads of compliments on it.

Vertbaudet has some lovely clothes too, especially if they have a sale on. I got a dress for £13 and I’ve worn it loads.

I’ve bought all my clothes online as the shops are so limited. Good luck!

babyblue32 · 02/07/2018 21:29

I tired leggings from peacocks and a few tips

I've mainly found H&M to be the go to place.... but then again. I've only brought two pairs of jeans and shorts. Have been lucky on top. Until now lol

Tryingtogetitright · 03/07/2018 09:34

Just remembered, if you're going to have to shop online anyway, I used a website heavenlybump, they did some nice things and v reasonable. Was a few years ago now but might be worth a look?

Lillyringlet · 03/07/2018 12:14

Jojo has a sale on right now and their maternity stuff is so much better than mothercare!

Paranormalbouquet · 03/07/2018 12:21

It’s a nightmare. I’m 15 weeks with number 2 and growing out of my normal clothes quite quickly now. I’m an hourglass shape normally so generally wear quite fitted outfits. I need a mix of work and casual clothes. I was last pregnant 5 years ago and most of my maternity clothes are winter outfits (also as bought very little they got worn a lot and aren’t all in great shape!).

Where have people been buying work wear? Is there anywhere you can try clothes on?!

Daffodil2018 · 03/07/2018 13:54

Have a look at GAP - their maternity stuff is online only I think but pretty reasonable and stylish.

I have got my eye on Seraphine for when I get a bit further along but it's quite expensive.

hammeringinmyhead · 03/07/2018 20:42

Thanks for the Happy Mama recommendation. Just ordered some casual dresses!

PasstheStarmix · 03/07/2018 20:44

Matalan used to do a decent range
