Pregnancy and fibroids

Hi
I have a number of medium size fibroids and have done for a while. In my first pregnancy the GP sent me for an early scan straight away, not sure why, possibly to check not ectopic.

Has anyone else with fibroids been scanned before 12 weeks? Is it standard practice for this scenario?

I have fibroids, found before I got pregnant. Not been sent for an early scan and the snr registrar I've seen and midwife both know. Was told to wait to see what 12 week scan brings up as it's common for fibroids to disappeae apparently in pregnancy, something to do with progesterone levels. Both told me same thing independently so I believe the advice and just waiting for my scan in 2 weeks now and fingers crossed they have gone. Even if they haven't I've been told not to worry as they will just monitor more and prepare for birth if chance will impede natural birth. It is worrying but I just have to wait and trust the professionals. Have you spoken to your midwife about your concerns?

I have booking appointment in 2 weeks so can speak to her then. I know my fibroids were not really visable at the end of my first pregnancy but I think they are back going on symptoms. Hopefully they don't cause issues for either of us! X
