Not HG, just neverending nausea/ vomiting

Just wondering how many other people have experienced nausea/ vomiting that didn't let up after the first trimester or at all? NHS website says it usually disappears by 16-20 weeks. According to Wikipedia, about 1 in 10 women suffer all the way through.

My nausea started when I was just over 4 weeks and was at its worst when I was 14-16 weeks. Ironically, the first time I vomited was the morning of my 12-week scan, so exactly the point where it's supposed to start getting better. I am now 27 weeks, and after a few slightly better weeks in the middle of the second trimester, it seems to be getting worse again. Actual vomiting is limited to about once a week, but the timing is often spectacularly crap!

Just a thread to share experiences and commiserate with each other! I feel like I am running a one-woman awareness campaign, people are constantly surprised that nausea doesn't always disappear after the first 12 weeks Smile

Forgot to mention I have been prescribed cyclizine. It seems to take the edge off, but if I take it when I think I might throw up in the next 15-30 minutes it tends to be too late.

I'm 20+2 weeks ,always have some degree of nausea, constantly spitting as have too much saliva ,some days I don't vomit some days I do several times. I had hoped it would go by 20 weeks but now I think will probably have to wait til baby is born in November.

How are you handling it ? I find it makes it so hard to do all the things I wanted sorting , the nursery etc , it's put a bit of downer on something I so wanted to enjoy.

It will all be worth it though I know Smile

I remember despairing when it was at its worst, wondering how I'd get anything done. I am now feeling a bit better. I would definitely recommend asking for medication - I was fobbed off at 15 weeks, but had a very receptive GP when I called again at 22. I've also just resigned myself to the fact that it's not going away until birth. That actually helps, because I'm no longer disappointed every day I still feel sick. I don't go anywhere without my sickness bands, medication and sick bags (get them on eBay). Good luck!

Oh yes! I vomited about 5 times a day right up until the day I gave birth. It wasn't quite hyperemesis, but not far off it! Ondansetron is so so much better than cyclizine. Really hoping the next pregnancy is less miserable!!

Yep im the same as you OP still get it now and i’m 36+2 weeks. Its just starting to ease off alittle but for how long i dont know. The weeks i didnt have it has bad was 22-27 so had a little break but then it returned.

I have been given cyclizine and metoclopramide but they both made me feel even worse for some strange reason , my body did not react well to taking them at all and now I'm not as bad as I was between the weeks 5-14 I'm hesitant to try anything else.

Hi ladies, im 7 weeks and 4 days and finding MS unbearable atm. My poor OH is having to keep the house going because I feel to drained to do anything. Work is a constant struggle. Im hoping this starts wearing off at 12 weeks because I have my wedding on the horizon 😐

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 01/07/2018 17:13

@satsuma2019 same here, I’m only 7 weeks and to see these other ladies saying they’re at weeks 20 and 30odd fills me with despair!! I’ve not even had three full weeks of sickness yet and it’s draining me!!

My poor partner is literally doing everything, all the cooking and housework, taking my kids out and about... I feel super pathetic 😩

Satsuma2019 · 01/07/2018 19:59

I know!! When i read this thread and a couple of others relating to morning sickness some ladies have said it didnt stop until birth. I cant even think to imagine that!!
