Hi All,,
I feel really nervous about to going to Malaysia (Langkawi and Kuala Lumpur) as I will be 10 weeks pregnant at the time of travel.

Am really nervous about going - has anyone else been in a similar situation (i.e long haul while early in the pregnancy - although I have a 18 month DD comming with me and if they have been to Malasyia or somewhere similar while pregnant - were you ok).

I'd like to hear about other people's experiences - I've scared myself silly reading up on travelling while pregnant etc and midwife has told not very supportive - told me it's my decision what I do.
Thanks,

Don't worry about the midwife's opinion. I flew from Australia when 12 weeks pregnant this time - and with a toddler. I have a clotting disorder just to complicate things, so I wore compression stockings (well - for some of the way!!). Flying is fine...just follow everyone's advice here and walk up and down the isle everyone now and then and drink lots of water. I've just returned from Greece (23 weeks preg) and am flying back to Oz when I'm 35 weeks (Obstetrician is happy with that).

I haven't been to KL for many years but it's a lovely place. Just be a bit careful and avoid the street stalls as suggested.

Have a great holiday and goodluck with an 18 month old on the long-haul

forgot to add the trip to Oz at 7 weeks this time!! I've sought lots of opinions on flying, especially with a clotting disorder on top of pregnancy. The biggest risk is of DVT, but your toddler should keep you on the move! Enjoy.
