Sorry if this has already been asked- I searched but can't find any recommendations on it here.

What do people think about going to the gym when pregnant? I haven't been since 2 months ago(the week I conceived) and thinking I should go back so I don't pile on the weight but then I'm not sure what ill feel like doing when I get there... feeling quite lazy recently!!

Went to 32 weeks absolutely no reason too

I didn't gym but I did continue swimming most of the way through my pregnancy.

One of my friends did CrossFit up until she delivered. She had a pretty quick labour for a first baby so thinknit helped with her delivery

I haven't stored going since getting pregnant. Just make sure all the trainers know so that they can adapt anything you're not supposed to do and advise you on what is best. Essentially you need to ensure your heart rate doesn't get too raised and you don't get too hot.

I’m still going to the gym... I’m only 5 weeks though. I’m planning on continuing as long as I can (or as long as I can be bothered!)

29 weeks and still going. I take it easier but very much enjoy it still.

Dal8257 · 18/06/2018 23:48

Definitely go. All of the doctors and midwives I’ve spoken to have said to continue to exercise throughout pregnancy and keep active. I go to the gym a few times a week and plan on doing so for as long as possible.

TinyTerror1 · 19/06/2018 07:52

Keep active but ease off a bit is what I was told, like one of the PPs said.

Thanks everyone! I'll have to start going again. I lost the motivation as my work can be quite physical so I'm always tired in the evenings.
But maybe even if I just go twice a week that'd be better than nothing 😊

I’m 28 weeks and still go to the gym 3-4 times a week. I do 15 mins cross trainer and 15 mins walking and then abit of mat work. I find it difficult to use the recline bike now though! They say to keep active so as long as you are not over doing or doing anything new you didn’t do previously then you will be fine xx
