So... I’m 5 weeks pregnant and, like most of us, won’t be telling anyone until after the first trimester.

But, I have no idea how to convincingly get thought the next seven weeks without being rumbled.

I bloody love alcohol, there is no way anyone who knows me would believe I just didn’t feel like drinking. Similarly, the antibiotic line would not be believed either, that’s the standard ‘I’m pregnant but not telling anyone’ line.

So... what excuses are you using/used? I have parties, girls nights out and various other events to get through 😬😬

I got stung by a bee and reacted badly (just redness and swelling) so dr said to take anti histamines (the type you can’t drink with) until swelling goes down. Sting at top of leg (crouched down and trapped it in top of thigh) so couldn’t show people. Only buys you a week though.

I'm currently 7+4 and living through this at the moment. I had to go to an extremely boozy hen do with MIL and SILs THREE days after I found out. I literally have never turned down a drink in their presence, but I think I got away with pretending an old shoulder injury had flared up and I was on some strong painkillers.

I've used the hangover excuse, which I think people saw straight through but were too polite to question.

Planning to pretend drink through the next two pub trips...I never realised how much everyone drank until I started trying to avoid it!!

Also I keep mysteriously turning down food, because quite frankly, if it's not a ham and cheese sandwich at the moment, I'm just going to vom it back up.

Good luck!!!
