Hi - am wondering whether you really need to buy special huge thick maternity towels or would the strongest Always or similar work......??

I am clearly a first timer and to be honest a bit grossed out by the size of those things - are they really necessary?!?!

If you've got money to burn buy the Always. But honestly everyone will be looking at the baby not your visible panty line. First pack is used up so so quickly it might as well be the cheap ones.

I recommend tesco's own..IMO not worth buying branded maternity ones as its a waste..!! You deffo need maternity towels as they are absorbant enough. I remember a mw telling me when I had dd that the cheapest were the best..Tesco 99p for around 20 iir and she was right..!!

BTW I must have gone through pack and packs. .

I also bought cheap knickers from asda around £2.50 for a pack of 5..??? Did the same with ds's birth and found them great.

Good luck with the birth xx
