Shoulder and neck pain

Ouch. Am currently on my holidays....and I’ve woken up at 4am here with shoulder and neck pain on my right.

I’m 18 weeks pregnant. I wondered if it could be the air conditioning as I’ve been laying on my left side....but the air con isn’t that strong and the pain has come on suddenly in the night.

I’m not great with heat, and it’s about 30 degrees out. Noticed yesterday I have swollen ankles (not crazy swollen just cankle like now).

It’s driving me mad. I just want to sleep!!! I’ve never had pain before without it being from working out or something obvious.

I just googled “shoulder pain in pregnancy” and it seems like it could be common....depending what website I look at.

Has anyone else had anything like this?

Yes but before pregnant too... you may just be sleeping in slightly different position to normal due to pregnancy ?
I have woke up I tears with pain to
Find out I have pulled a ligament in my shoulder before in my sleep ( I do fidget and contort a lot ) it wears of in a few weeks if it’s that. Other times it’s just pulled x x fingers crossed it doesn’t ruin your holiday

I had gotten a bit worried this morning after googling it. I saw something linking neck and shoulder pain on the right side to preeclampsia. Keeping in mind it is we one website, and it wasn’t easy to find. Anyway, it went down during the day - which makes me think more sleep position related.

Lying awake now as it’s starting to hurt a bit again 🙁.....plus my husband enjoyed a few too many beers and is now snoring!

I was also worrying as I was sore at the top of my back/neck however as above I realised I was sleeping slightly differently. It feels like I have pulled a muscle and can really hurt some days. I am only 6 weeks pregnant but noticed this within a few weeks. I had it checked anyway as I worrying about eptopic given the stage I am at and was reassured by the EPU.

When are you due home @Archie1982 as it may be worth checking in with your midwife for reassurance.
