Worried as I used the applicator

Hi all.

Had thrush and was prescribed an internal cream which I used the applicator. I pushed the applicator as far as I could as stated on the instructions.

I’ve since read that you shouldn’t do this. My doctor didn’t say anything about not inserting it all the way in. Now I’m panicked I’ve harmed the baby 😔 I’m 22+3

You won’t have reached your uterus where your baby is my love, your cervix will be firmly closed. Don’t worry!

If it’s stated on the instructions, who told you you shouldn’t have done this?
Are they medically qualified?

Thank you. Been reading threads where people say to use fingers instead of the applicator.

The instructions sometimes say for pregnant women to insert using your fingers. However if you have used applicator I’m sure you haven’t done any harm, stop worrying and I hope your thrush has cleared up x 😊

Drug companies are rightly cautious in pregnancy but usually there's no evidence of harm only a theoretical risk. In this case theoretically you could push the pessary into the cervix but it is extremely unlikely to happen - especially as the cervix will be high and tightly closed at 22 weeks.. So please don't worry.

You can shag whilst pregnant! That applicator is nothing. Do not fret.

Its because of the risk that you could poke it through your cervix and possibly break your waters. I think you would know if you had done this as it would be bloody uncomfortable.
