It’s my sons birthday in July and we’re planning on taking him to Chessingtons.

I’ll be 25 weeks pregnant by this time, is it safe for me to go on rides?

Like the Vampire for instance?
Or the Log Flume?

Thanks

Have you looked online? I think most say that it isn’t safe, I would imagine log flume definitely no

Rooroo1012 · 23/05/2018 20:29

I have but was wondering if anyone has gone ahead and done it. I’m not a massive rides fan as I get scared easily lol.
Do you think the slow kiddy rides would be ok?

Anything where there is a risk of you hitting your bump on a restraint or anything else is a big no no. I know a day holding the bags isnt that fun but it's not about you and is it really worth risking it?

Winterfellismyhome · 23/05/2018 20:33

I went to Disney at 9 weeks and could go on hardly anything, despite people online saying i could. I decided not to risk it, the rides will still be there in a few years :)

Rooroo1012 · 23/05/2018 20:35

I’m not bothered about going on them or not was just checking with other people if they’ve come across same situation but sounds like a good no which I’m fine with. My son will have an awesome day going on rides with his dad anyways and I can take the pictures! Smile

Thanks everyone. Clears that up for me. Will still be a lovely day watching my boys from a distance cradling my bump x

👍 usually I'd say hit the bar but I guess that's not the best idea either!

somersetsoul · 23/05/2018 21:09

I'm going to Alton Towers at 25 weeks! I'm going to be the bag holder. I think anything that can cause impact on the bump isnt safe. I doubt I'd get my bump behind the safety now and I'm 20 weeks! Our hotel is onsite so I'll be heading back for breaks/naps when I get bored!

Rooroo1012 · 23/05/2018 21:24

I can hit the bar if they do mocktails 🤣
Yeah I’d rather avoid anything that can cause risk. It’s taken over 4 year of ttc so this baby is very special to us.
There’s always next year to go again, just looking forward to seeing my boys face when we arrive, he’s going to love it.

They wouldn't let you on the rides if you had a visible bump anyway, they tend to have big signs with a pregnant woman wth a cross through haha. I bought an Alton towers season pass a few days before I found out I was pregnant so didn't even get to use it. I asked if I could get the name transferred and Alton towers refused and said there's plenty of other things I could enjoy at the park (not worth the 4 hour drive there isn't) and they only refund or transfer in the case of death! I took it further and they eventually let me transfer it to someone else though which was nice. But I reckon seeing your son enjoy it will make you happy enough! Xx

Aww congratulations. Hope you enjoy your cocktail and DS enjoys his birthday.

miki123 · 24/05/2018 08:43

I was at Chessingtons on Monday and there are signs on every ride indicating which ones aren’t suitable for pregnancy ladies. I think you will be able to go on on most of them, just not the crazy rollercoaster ones!

Dingdongdigeridoo · 24/05/2018 09:43

I think you’d be really uncomfortable on the rides anyway. I’m 25 weeks at the moment and wearing seatbelts is uncomfortable. I don’t think a big bar on a theme park ride would be very nice! I hope you manage to enjoy the day anyway.

happymummy12345 · 24/05/2018 09:48

I wouldn't risk it personally, and I'm a big ride fan.

hammeringinmyhead · 24/05/2018 10:55

I'm going to Alton Towers at 18 weeks and shall be obeying the signs. I'm a negative blood type and have been told to avoid any knocks if possible in case the baby is positive.
