I had my 12 week scan last Wednesday and everything seemed fine baby had a strong heartbeat and was flipping around. This morning have got up to go to the toilet and noticed there was red blood that had filled my knickers and blood down the toilet too from where I had urinated but not heavy when I wiped there is no cramping either. I am going to EPU tomorrow morning but feel as though my world's been turned upside down I really really don't want to lose this baby 😣😣

Lots of women bleed for many different reasons. Can the EPU not see you today?

putputput · 22/05/2018 08:47

I had two episodes of bright red blood at 10weeks and 14weeks. DD is now a healthy, happy 6month old. The bleeding came from another area in my uterus.
The fact you have had a recent scan where everything is ok is a massive positive. It's terrifying but the worst is not inevitable.

Trixie101 · 22/05/2018 08:55

@milney25 apparently EPU is fully booked today just said go to A&E if the bleeding gets worse or if there is any cramps

@putputput thank you that has given me some hope it's just so terrifying especially when they say the risk is lower after 12 weeks so I'm crapping myself tomorrow seems a very long way away!

I had bright red bleeding at 6-7 weeks and thought I was miscarrying.
I wasn't!
I'm now 17 weeks. It's really common but very scary. If it continues then go to A&E. Good luck x

Sunflower2018 · 22/05/2018 10:38

I would just go to A&E. There's not much you can do and if you sit around waiting for tomorrow you will just be worried sick! I'd go straight to A&E. I'm sure they will be able to rule out the worst! Good luck x

Just come out of A&E not very pleased with them felt like they did not take it seriously said EPU was fully booked today so could not fit me in so just took bloods and urine sample and told me to go to my appointment tomorrow! So I'm still left worrying

Update on symptoms bleeding has now turned really light and pink in colour still some red blood in toilet when I go for a wee but pink when I wipe no cramping still so hoping it's a good sign, still have sore boobs too

Hope your ok Trixie101, I am sure you are anxiously waiting for tomorrow. Sorry you didn't get any answers with a and e, I am sure you haven't settled all evening but hopefully everything will work out ok for you Thanks

A&E can't do much more if the EPU is already booked up. I had bleeding several times throughout my pregnancy and everything was fine. I know it's hard but try not to worry.

cazzy80 · 23/05/2018 17:24

Hi Op, how did you get on at your appointment today? I hope your doing ok Thanks

ellalouise90 · 23/05/2018 17:36

My good friend bled heavily at 11+6 weeks , luckily everything was fine! Try not to worry to much x

PickleSarnie · 23/05/2018 18:21

I had absolute shed loads of bleeding at just under 12 weeks I think. It was just after I'd had a scan at 11 weeks.

They told me to go to a&e because the bleeding was that heavy. It gushed all over floor and was heavier than my heaviest ever period and actually continued like that for a few days then slowed down to brownish blood for a few weeks.

A&E sent me to EPU and they scanned and all looked okay. They found a pretty big haematoma. It was something like 10cm x 10cm x 3cm. And that was after the massive bleed. The haematoma was still there at my 20 week scan but much smaller.

My son was born at home at 39+5 perfectly healthy and totally oblivious to all the stress!

Fingers crossed for you x
