Scan at 9wks - what should I expect?

I had a tiny bit of bleeding and have been having pains in my hips and pelvis so EPU have booked me in for scan on Monday. I'll be nine weeks pregnant by then. Assuming everything is ok, what should I expect to see and hear? I don't want to panic unnecessarily so please share your experiences.

its does seem like such a long time, is this private or NHS ?

Its NHS but we are investigating going private. Have to wait til i actually miscarry before I can do anything.
