Countdown to 12 Week Scan

With 12 days left to wait and the anxiety growing. Anyone else got their next week and want to do some virtual hand holding, shared paranoia, general anxiety releasing?

Last night I was pleased I needed to pee more the last couple of days as I thought “ooh that must mean things are growing”. Today I’m worried because I’ve been totally off chocolate and I’ve just melted an Easter egg and eaten it with with some granola!! Arrrgh!

All madness I know, just got to wait and hope! X

It’s brilliant, I didn’t get on with bpm which is a let down but you can soon work out which is your heartbeat and the babies as the babies Is ALOT faster!!!! I was gutted when I found out they don’t listen to the heartbeat at midwife app.... honestly thought that was a special thing and for dp! That’s the reason I got it :) xx

Ack! Less than 24 hours to wait for me now. By this time tomorrow I’ll know what’s what. Simultaneously don’t want to think about it and can’t stop thinking about it! Need to keep busy.

Thanks all. My daughter has just come out in chicken pox spots so my stress levels are now off the charts! Trying to convince my mother in law to come and babysit so I didn’t have to go on my own to the scan. DD is usually at a childminder on Wednesdays but obvs can’t go. She’s only got a few spots now but I’m dreading how many there will be in the morning! Such terrible timing.

Hi all, Just got back. Baby was fine! Phew! However, the stubborn little thing wouldn’t get in to a good position for them to get the measurements as accurately as they wanted so I have to go back next Wednesday!

Good luck to everyone else going for scans this week. Thanks for all the support and hand holding! We’ll have to start a “Count down to 20 weeks thread” 😉 xx

Scan went well. Saw baby and heartbeat :) wouldn’t stop wriggling though so couldn’t get the Nuchal test done, so back in a couple of weeks for the quad test.

@Stephisaur glad the scan went well! How did it make you feel? I’m hoping dp will feel a little more involved when he sees baby on screen xx

Ooh, @Stephisaur have you told your parents yet? Second the feeling of “phew I didn’t make it up”.

@Rose2887 I’m sure he will, it suddenly makes much more “real” and a lot less abstract! Especially when they are bouncing about wiggling their little arms and legs.

I cried with relief this time when the sonography said it was all fine. 🤣

We have our 12 week scan on Wednesday (will be 12 weeks exactly too). Already a bundle of nerves as this pregnancy has been fairly smooth sailing and so scared something might go wrong. Had a scan (private) at 6 weeks and an 8 week scan due to disappearing symptoms but saw a nice heartbeat each time. Think I’ve grown a bit of a bump or brought back a post holiday food baby

What actually happens at the 12 week scan? Is it just scan and bloods then done? Or do they ask questions etc? X

If all looks fine it’s just scan, bloods, home. X

I had my 12 week NT scan today and she couldnt tell me said my results would be sent to my midwife and reviewed with yhe blood tests. That must be a bad sign is it? Im completely freaking out
