Am I earlier than thought?

So according to my lmp I was 4 weeks on 8.5.18. I had a scan yesterday at 5 weeks - 15.5.18, my hcg is rising normally, low but normal and in the range just the lower end of it... she couldn't see anything. She said I may have ovulated late but I tracked my ovulation not with tests but with cervical mucus and other symptoms. I'm sure it can be off a few days. Is it that I may be a few days earlier or a whole week? Or could I be 5 weeks still but still not see anything? I'm not worried about a week, I just want baby to be healthy!

I tracked ovulation had sex every day during my fertile period and still conceived late.sperm can live up to 5 days to fertilise the egg so ovulation days mean zilch

I don’t think it’s unusual not to see anything so early. Was it an abdominal or vaginal scan? Abdominal ones aren’t as sensitive this early.

I had a scan at 5 weeks and they couldn’t see anything at all! I care back 10 days later and a little bab with a heartbeat was on the screen and I was told that I was 7 weeks. Good luck and take care, I’m sure it’ll be ok x

Was a vaginal scan! I may have ovulated late but doubt I would have a week later as I tracked when me and oh did the deed and it wouldn't have added up even with the 5 day thing 🤔 guess I'll find out Tuesday! Just took a test and put picture up, would the line be too dark to be 4 weeks?? The line came up 5 seconds after I put it in the urine!!

Like lovemyhorsesxo said, sorry can live for a few days so even with tracking ovulation it may not fertilise the egg that day. Also, even judging by cervical mucous you can be a few days out from when the egg is actually released.

I tracked when me and oh did the deeds and it still wouldn't add up with the 5 days. No way of knowing when I ovulated. My point in the post was could I still be 5 weeks and not see anything on a scan.

Well I had a scan at 5 weeks and 4 days and all I saw was the gestational sac and fetal pole then at 8 weeks bubs had heartbeat and now is the light of my life.but at 5weeks they should atleast see a thickening if the uterus

Yes, you can be 5 weeks and not see anything on a scan as it’s just too small/too early. Many early pregnancy units will not scan you until six weeks or over for this reason. Are they planning to rescan you next week?

It’s common for them to not see anything at 5 weeks. It happens all the time. They usually tell you to come back in 2 weeks.

I have a scan Tuesday so will be a week after they scanned me!! Just hoping all is okay in there!

They said my uterus had thickened and could tell what ovary I ovulated from. She said it's thickened nicely
