Follow up test after baby measuring small

Hi I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience of the follow up test done after baby measuring small at growth scan. My first was smaller than average but perfectly healthy so this time round I am having more routine tests.
At my 29 week scan baby was measuring 27 weeks so the sonographer arranged for a follow up test next week (lympy-something). She said to check blood flow and fluid levels. Didn't think to ask more info at the time and my usual midwife is off this week!
Has anyone had this done and what did it involve, how long did it take to perform and get results?
Feeling anxious now
Thanks

Yes I had lots of these with my twins as they measured small. They will check the Doppler and liquid. The Doppler is checking the blood flow from placenta to baby via the cord and liquid is where they will measure the waters around baby. It only takes a few minutes and then the sonographer writes a little report and then your midwife or doc should talk it through with you after?

Hope everything goes well Smile
