Yes, Seedlip is alright (although I've only tried the herby garden one, not the spice one) but it is unbelievably expensive when you consider that it's a similar price to gins like Tanqueray and Hendricks - the purchase price of which is about 60% duty and VAT, which isn't payable on alcohol-free Seedlip. It doesn't hit the spot like a gin but if you use Fever Tree tonic, ice, and garnish, then you can create a decent placebo.

I cannot bear sweet drinks. I am very into angostura bitters and tonic (the bitters are alcoholic but as you literally use three or four drops, this is essentially alcohol-free) and my preggo version of an Aperol Spritz, which is one measure of Aperol with ice, tonic or soda, and a big wedge of orange or grapefruit. 25ml of Aperol is less than half a unit of alcohol, and it feels like a proper, grown-up drink.

Ooh will try nanny state, thanks for the recommendation!

I love the alcohol free ciders, they're so nice. Never had a problem with them in pregnancy (3rd baby now) & MW always been happy with me drinking them.

I had a sip of DP's cider the other day - new flavour he was raving about - and i could actually taste the alcohol in it. Was really off putting 😂 think i'll stick with my alcohol free even when DS is here tbh

Another thing ive remembered is virgin Marys! I love a Bloody Mary when not pg and really, you don’t taste the vodka in them at all, so having a Virgin Mary is a lovely substitute. I also feel all that tomato juice must be good for the baby!

I’ve just bought a bottle of the alcohol free wine mentioned up thread. Looking forward to a glass of it later. Can’t beat a cold savingon blanc in the summer. Hoping I like it! If the red is any good, it will be nice having wine when having friends over for dinner and to not feel left out.

Tesco has quite a large selection in today which was impressive. It’s nice to have the option.

It's like asking is it ok to drink juice, if that helps

When I really really fancy a drink I've had half a glass of prosecco topped with the fever tree tree pink tonic. It's sooooo good like a rose fizz and obviously alcoholic by half a unit or so.. yum!!!

Elderflower juice is a good alternative.

I asked my GP about non-alcoholic beer and she said fine. I find I can only stomach two at any one time though, so not worried!
