Hi all.
I keep getting given conflicting advice.
I bought pregnacare tablets for my second trimester. They are ones that are labelled as being suitable for all the way through.
Issue is, all their stuff, contains Folic Acid.

I’ve been told my one midwife that folic acid after 12 weeks isn’t beneficial but does no harm. But then my main midwife yesterday told me it causes increased chance of tongue tie and I shouldn’t take anything with it in.
I don’t understand why pregnacare have it in all their stuff if that is the case.

Can I ask, what are others taking for second and third trimester?

Many thanks

I think it's worth asking anyone who tells you this to point you in the direction of the research and evidence.

The tongue is developed by 14 weeks.

Thank you all for the feedback. It’s super helpful when each midwife says something different.

The evidence regarding folic acid and tongue tie is circumstantial at best and I am very surprised that you midwife is quoting it in this way.

My midwife told me to stop taking it, too. I just take vit D.
