Constantly ill since being pregnant

Anyone else found this?

I’m almost 10 weeks, and in the last few weeks I’ve had tonsillitis, a stomach bug, and now I have a cold/cough and feel like shit again.

I’m never usually ill! Or if I am it’s only a day or too and doesn’t effect me too badly.

It’s just rubbish, on top of the morning sickness, constant tiredness and insomnia. I haven’t felt myself in weeks. Please tell me it’ll get better, I don’t remember being this poorly with ds Sad

I think sometimes its just pot luck. I'm pregnant with my first (28+2) but for the 2nd, 3rd and half of the 4th Month I was so ill and ended up having 3 weeks off of work with flu that I contracted twice!
In the end I boosted myself as much as possible with the help of vitamins and now religiously take pregnacare as I am terrified of catching anything else. I also found Lucozade sport (no caffeine in that) helped give me a little boost, as well as the vit C dissolvable tablets (like Berocca) helped.

Good luck! It will pass :)

Thank you Flowers

I feel awful for my poor ds, it’s my day off with him today and all I want to do is sit on the sofa under a blanket. He wants to go to the park but I don’t feel I have the energy to even get dressed. I wish for both our sakes I had seen if his nursery could have had him an extra day but it’s too late now.

Rest is definitely also going to help, I kept trying to go back to work and made myself so much worse that I ended up in A+E and having never felt so poorly in my life!
Maybe a duvet day is calling

If I’m still feeling bad tomorrow I’ll call in sick from work. Ds will be at nursery so at least I can stay in bed all day.

The week I had tonsillitis I managed to get 3 days in bed which I felt helped.

I never take time off work usually, but luckily my boss knows I’m pregnant and is sympathetic because his wife is also pregnant and suffering. He actually told me to take advantage because he’s likely to be soft on me at the moment!

It certainly helps if your boss knows. My bosses didn't know I was pregnant as I first contracted the flu at about 7 weeks, I had almost 2 weeks off (VERY unlike me) without having to let on but by week 3 I had to tell them as I was worrying I was taking the mick out of them a bit. As soon as I told them they were really good and just said to take as long as I needed!
It was awful though, by week 3 I had attempted to go to work at least once a week during the weeks I was off and it made it so much worse, and longer! The final time I attempted to go in I was sick all over the car park at the bank, and then all over my car on the commute home, It was bloody awful!
