When did you get your c section date?

Does anyone know when the hospital ring to tell you your c section date?
I'm booked to have one next week (39 weeks) and they still haven't rang!
My midwife said at my appointment last week they usually book in for 39 or 39+1.
I'm 38 weeks today so thought they would ring today to tell me the date, but I've had nothing!
Should I ring tomorrow if I've still not heard anything?

I got my date from the registrar at my 36 week consultant appointment. They gave me the date and told me to go in the day before for the pre-op. I had to go in at 8am on the day and baby was here at 10.25!

I found my elective really calm and straightforward. It almost happened too quickly in comparison to the long labour and process with my first child! We went in and suddenly were in theatre and she was here! My husband was able to be with me for anaesthetic and throughout and I could have skin to skin immediately.

Recovery was a bit slower for me. Pain was manageable and similar to first time but had that wobbly inside feeling for quite a while. It's almost impossible to take it easy with a toddler and a newborn so would have a good day and do more and then suffer for the next two days!

@beewales thank you for that! So many people have said electives are nice and calm. I think that's what I need after my first birth so fingers crossed. If I ever get a date!

I signed all of the forms and had my pre op at 35 weeks....so 3 nearly 4 weeks ago now!
