My clothes don’t fit!

I realise that I shouldn’t have left this until 11:00pm the night I go back to work (teacher on Easter holiday) but I’ve just tried on half my work wardrobe and nothing fits. I’m 13 weeks+3 and have only gained 6 pounds from the start but my boobs feel like they’ve doubled in size and my stomach is protruding. None of my shirts fit and my pants are so tight (I’m normally a size 8-10 and fluctuate between the two!) I realise my body is going to change and am prepared to fully embrace it but this feels so soon. My shirts are literally stretched to the point where the buttons look like they’ll ping off. Over Easter I’ve just been wearing comfy clothes and haven’t noticed as much! I’ve also been trying to eat really healthy. Did anyone else notice their body changing so early? FYI first baba.

I’ve noticed the same thing over the past week really (I’m 11+1 with #4). My jeans no longer fit at all, my lower belly is just protruding to no end. Also a teacher but in a college so ‘work wear’ is pretty flexible. Sounds like you need to invest in some maternity trousers and bigger blouses Grin.

@pinkvoid thanks so much my lovely. You’ve no idea how much better this makes me feel! It’s so odd because I haven’t actually gained that much physical weight but my boobs are ginormous (I’m already a natural 34F before pregnancy - it runs in the family) so you can imagine! Congratulations on your pregnancy! My lovely husband has just driven to my Mum’s house to collect some of her dresses! So fingers crossed I’ll be okay for tomorrow!

I was the same. It's all the bloating! I am a size 8 but tummy bloated so much I was wearing maternity jeans from 12 weeks. It felt easier to tell work after my 12 week scan as I was protruding so much and felt embarrassed

Mine changed so quickly, within the first 10 weeks! It wasn’t that noticeable to look at but I couldn’t wear any of my usual high waist jeans or anything from pretty much the off!

Do you have a hairband? If so, wrap it around the button on your trousers and loop it through the buttonhole and back round the button, then wear a top that's long enough to cover it up and job's a good 'un! I got to about 18 weeks by doing this (I'm a cheapskate).

Not sure what to suggest with shirts...

Yup! First baby, 12 +3 and none of my clothes fit! I've usually got a very flat stomach and it turns out all my clothes are very tight across my lower abdomen. Including both my favourite pairs of high waisted jeans. I think if you are more of an apple shape and wear baggier tops usually you have more time in normal clothes. I've been frantically buying maternity clothes this weekend.

Yep me too, couldn't do up most of my trousers from about 8 weeks. Did the hairband trick for a week or so then bought some bump bands from Asda (3 for £10), you can wear them over your normal trousers with the trousers undone, pretty handy! Those and maternity leggings (also cheap from Asda) are keeping me going for now.
