Second hand/hand me downs?

This is my first baby. I'll be buying some things new but I've seen loads of cheap bundles of baby clothes on eBay.

Of course I'll wash them first.
Do others do this too?

Definitely go for it! You would probably end up washing clothes before they are worn even if they are new so might as well do it with second hand one! Only thing I wouldn't buy second hand are mattresses, car seat and isofix base.

Yes we got loads of hand me downs from friends & family.
Think we only bought a few packets of baby gros.

Plus you are likely to be inundated with clothes presents from friends & family!

For our LO most things we got were 2nd hand- either given/loaned by friends/family or got on eBay.

Go with whatever you feel happy with.

My sister was massively sniffy about the fact I used so much 2nd hand stuff...for her, she explained that she wanted everything brand new (for at least the first baby) and turned down most offers for clothes/equipment from family/friends.

This meant more for me & LO...

We got everything except cot mattress and car seat second hand.

Definitely, they grow so fast they only get to wear most things a hand full of times anyway! I have passed most of my ds's things on the friends who have boys aswell.

My children have hardly had anything new. Most is from Facebook, charity shops and cousins' hand me downs. By the time babies have grown out if things, they've hardly been worn. I'd rather save the money for when they're older and asking for specific things to wear.
