Hi I’ve just found out I’m 3 weeks. Me and OH Really happy but I get married end of July and I’ve already got my dress. I’m nearly 23 stone and the dress already needs altering. I’m thinking if I loose weight healthily I might just get away with this. Eg baby bump replacing fat bump. Any one else in this situation. I’m really embarrassed to tell the lady in the shop as I had to sign a form that stated if I lost or gained weight or became pregnant it wasn’t there problem but is that after the fittings or before

If you haven’t had any fittings yet then don’t despair! I didn’t show at all by 12 weeks so you may not even have an issue, but you can tell them at the fittings and make sure there is some wiggle room.. is it a lace up back?

I didnt start showing until nearly 20 weeks and in all honesty lost quite a bit of weight in my first trimester just through generally feeling poorly! All may well be fine and just leave it as long as possible for alterations 😊 enjoy wedding planning and your pregnancy!

Hi yes will be a lace up. I wouldn’t be so worried if I was smaller but as I don’t have much choice from where I am now it’s a bit perplexing

But surely whatever your starting size of you don’t begin to show by the wedding then there isn’t a problem? Id be much less concerned with a lace up as you can adjust as needed. Just be honest with the shop at your fittings.

I got married at 22 weeks with twins and I only needed to go up two sizes (was a 16/18 to start with).

At 12 weeks I wouldn't have needed to go up at all.

Looking at my bump photos I think week 17 would have started to be snug but probably ok before then.

So think you'll be ok plus the main thing they do to expand dresses is put a lace up back in and you already have that.

P.s. getting married pregnant was awesome. Our babies were with us and I danced all night and remember everything as I wasn't drinking. Congratulations!
