As the title says I’m 15+1 and still in my normal clothes. They still fit and I feel no need for maternity ones just yet.
This is DC2 so I thought you were meant to show quicker?
Saying that I am plus sized so could that be the reason?

I'm 32 weeks and only in some normal, some maternity clothes.

Essexmummy88 · 02/04/2018 09:12

I didn’t wear maternity until about 20 weeks.

feelingoodinspring · 02/04/2018 09:15

I'm 15 weeks too and still in my normal clothes. This is my 4th!

ThorsMistress · 02/04/2018 10:29

If it’s not one thing I’m worrying about it’s the other!

Thank you for the replies (and bearing with me)

I wore normal clothes all the way through ds2. I was huge too. Leggings and loose tops come in handy.
I had to go 1 size up to a 10 in leggings because of my hips? but go to Primark and buy 3 pairs for 6 quid and you're sorted for 9 month.

No need to spend so much money on maternity clothes.

HerSymphonyAndSong · 02/04/2018 10:35

I’m 34 weeks and still in some normal tops - it depends on your shape and the style of the clothes

I had to buy some maternity trousers during first trimester but it wasn’t because of my size - waistbands in the usual place exacerbated my nausea so I needed something higher/lower

With DD last year I didn't have a bump until 20 weeks and other people only really noticed closer to 30. I was a size 14-16 at the time and have big boobs so they kind of stuck out and made my clothes hang over my bump for a while. The only maternity clothes I bought were 2 pairs of jeans which I started wearing from about 20 weeks, everything else I just wore 16s. Was a big fan of hareem pants and a jeans, vest top and baggy shirt combo as it looked reasonably casual-put-together but also stretched nicely over my belly Grin

I hated being pregnant but I miss it so much now!

I remember being so impatient for a bump with my first, it's such an exciting time, I'm was about 27/28 weeks before I really had one, I remember taking pics of my 'bump' earlier and now looking back I just look bloated haha 🙈🙈

Astrid2 · 02/04/2018 10:41

I am 40+4 and still in my normal leggings and some baggier stretchy tops that aren't maternity!

NelleB · 02/04/2018 15:46

I am 15 weeks today, I was in a size 8 jean/trouser however I am now in a size 10 maternity jeans/trousers as I was uncomfortable and had lots of pressure. Maternity jeans are amazing from gebe on ASOS! I went a size up to make sure I had room for the next trimester. As long as you’re comfortable that’s the main thing.

BarryTheKestrel · 02/04/2018 15:52

I'm 13 weeks tomorrow and have just started wearing my mat jeans today because my others are far too tight. I haven't put on any weight yet (in fact I've lost a few pounds) but my stomach is very bloated.

Dinosauratemydaffodils · 02/04/2018 15:54

29 weeks and the only maternity item I'm wearing is maternity tights. I tend to buy bigger than I actually need as I like things loose though.

Skyechasemarshalontheway · 02/04/2018 15:55

I am 24 weeks and still in normal clothes.

guiltynetter · 02/04/2018 15:56

i think it depends on what type of clothes you wear too! i’m 16 weeks with my second and all my clothes are fine but i tend to wear a lot of stretchy dresses and tights which all have a bit of give, rather than fitted jeans etc.

RosieCotton · 02/04/2018 15:56

Im 24 weeks and only went into maternity jeans yesterday. Everything else im still wearing my normal clothes. Only went to maternity jeans because the button on my regular jeans was aggravating my c section scar.

Flamingo84 · 02/04/2018 15:57

I’m 18 weeks and still in normal clothes, glad I’m not the only one! I have a tiny bit of a bump but still in my size 8 stuff. I did get size 10 leggings as they’re a bit comfier if I’m going to be wearing them all day.

I bought a few summery outfits from boohoo’s maternity range and they seem nice, although it’ll be a good few weeks before they fit well I think.

SiolGhoraidh · 02/04/2018 16:07

17 weeks and plus size 18-20 here. All my clothes still fit, but waist bands across the bump feel uncomfortable (even though there's still loads of stretch in them) so I'm looking at buying over the bump leggings.
I'm still wearing my usual jeans and work trousers, but pulling them below the bump and wearing a long vest to cover the gap.

MeredithShepherd · 02/04/2018 18:40

I’m 9 weeks and already doing the bobble through the button hole trick. It is my second and I’m usually a size 10 but I’m seriously squeezing myself in. It’s mainly bloating I think but I could already pass for being 5 months pregnant in tight tops

happymummy12345 · 02/04/2018 18:45

I wore normal clothes the entire time. I got bottoms and dresses in a size bigger around 7 months. My t shirts fitted the whole time.

RosaBaby2 · 02/04/2018 18:51

I started wearing maternity jeans/leggings around 22 weeks, I’m 35 weeks now and still wearing all my normal tops.

Mooana · 03/04/2018 03:10

Opposite problem here! 7 weeks and so horribly bloated I've not been able to wear my normally loose trousers done up since 6 weeks! I've finally invested in some maternity jeans today for a blessed relief! It's so uncomfortable and embarrassing as people keep asking if I'm pregnant (look about 5 months gone!) but I'm not really at the wanting to tell stage yet. Can't wait for a "real" bump!

Placebogirl · 03/04/2018 04:32

Nearly everything I wear normally is nipped in at the waist (my only nice feature, sadly) so I ended up in stretchy clothes, though not maternity clothes, very early with both of mine. With #2 I grew REALLY fast (she was 9lb10 when born, and on the 99th percentile all over, and I am a shortarse, so I was all belly) so was in full on maternity wear from about 16 weeks. With my first I went parasailing in workout gear pretending I wasn't pregnant at 19 weeks, and didn't really show until about week 26.
