Weight gain (or lack of!)

Hi all, just wondering if anyone didn't gain much weight in pregnancy?

I'm 28 weeks today, saw midwife this week and had only gained 1kg since my booking appointment! (Not a brag I promise).

I lost about 2.5kg in the first trimester so have gained that back plus the 1kg, am measuring 29 weeks by uterus measurement and have a super active baby.

Midwife didn't seem concerned, just mentioned it in passing . I actually thought I weighed a bit more based on scales I've used in between appointments (about 4lb more not loads) . I'm not due to see midwifefor another 4 weeks.

It's fine right?

Yes of course. Some of us are massive and some of us aren't!

Right! I'm 39 weeks and exactly the same weight as booking. Baby healthy as am I. Don't worry! Smile

I'm 14 weeks with twins and still same weight as my booking in appointment,

I've got HG though so that doesn't help. Babies are right size for dates, so obviously not minding living off rusks and yogurtGrin

I lost 8lbs in my first trimester, only regained it by 26 weeks but didn't gain until 30 weeks.

Unless you were underweight pre-pregnancy, or bump isn't growing, you don't need to worry

Conversely, my friend gained a massive 4 stone but lost it all us an extra stone within a month of birth!

I didn't gain that much weight. I measured 30 weeks at 37 weeks.

I have a couple of friends who didn’t gain any weight in pregnancy. They both had gestational diabetes so had to watch what they ate.

When they had the babies they had actually lost some pre-pregnancy weight though, but the babies were perfectly healthy!

My mum didn’t put any weight on when she was pregnant with me. I was small (I don’t think that was anything to do with how much weight she put on to be honest) but perfectly formed Wink.
