I'm only 13 weeks with my first baby! I have spent probably my entire adult life on SW as I used to be obese so I am not coping very well with how my body is changing. I have definitely gained weight in this first trimester- I had always thought I would eat healthily but now I realise you eat whatever doesn't turn your stomach when you have sickness and nausea! The sickness is wearing off somewhat so I am hoping to go back to a healthier more veg / protein heavy diet rather than bread and crisps and plain pasta!
So I am more than aware that I am probably fairly bloated. Over maybe the last two days my tummy has popped out; it's uncomfortable wearing my own jeans or even jeggings and I keep looking at maternity jeans and thinking how cosy and comfy they look Grin Too soon? 🙈

I started wearing maternity jeans at around 10-11 weeks, was so bloated and uncomfortable in my normal jeans.

I started wearing maternity clothes at 11 weeks (first pregnancy). None of my old clothes fit and I was so uncomfortable.
I am already showing at 12 weeks and I think it is because I have a short upper body so nowhere else for bump to go!

I'd stopped wearing my normal jeans then and was definitely in maternity bras by 12 weeks. I think I ordered my maternity wardrobe at 15 weeks and phased it in gradually.

I'm 20 weeks with my first and still have nothing to show for it:( I'm still in all my ordinary clothes!

RowenaDedalus · 27/03/2018 16:23

I think that's normal becky! Certainly I think mine must be just chub but I will go with it!

16 weeks with #1, about 8 weeks with #2. Every pregnancy is different :)

26 weeks and just starting to wear maternity clothes 😊

11 weeks - just leggings though because the others I had just didn't sit very comfortably. Everything else was ok until about 14 weeks then I gave in.... 22 weeks now and everything I'm wearing is maternity. Everyone is different. I've had horrendous bloating all th way through so far so my stomach has been big just because of that.

El1995 · 27/03/2018 17:54

Think I gave in and bought some maternity jeans at 34 weeks, but lived in leggings 8 weeks prior to that 😁

I never wore maternity clothes. I just got clothes the next side up around 7 months. My t shirts/ vest tops and tracksuit bottoms fitted me the whole way through, leggings and jeans I got a size bigger at 7 months, I also got dresses (summer time).
Underwear I just got bigger normal bras.

I’m at 14 weeks, I also have done SW and was a size 8 until pregnancy. I am now in comfy oversized pants for work from m and s and have purchased some jeans today from asos. I could coping being uncomfortable any longer. As long as your happy and comfy that’s the main thing xx

skenn3285 · 27/03/2018 18:07

I bought some maternity jeans at maybe 10 weeks because I was so bloated and uncomfortable! Mainly early on I found leggings a size up with existing dresses worked well. A couple of weeks ago (around 25 weeks) I bought maternity leggings and wish I’d got them earlier!

FannyHertz · 27/03/2018 18:14

I’m about 8 weeks with my 4th and already in my leggings 😂

I think how you usually dress has a big impact on when you have to switch. I'm pear-shaped with a very small waist, so all of my normal clothes are very small-waisted and fitted and therefore stop fitting pretty quickly. If I wore looser tops I would probably get away with them for much longer.

I'm 14 weeks now and wear maternity work clothes.
My regular clothes have a little more give as aren't as rigid as business wear.
