Once I wake in the middle of the night for a wee, I can't get back to sleep on my side. If I roll onto my back, gone. Anyone have any tips on getting to sleep on your side?

Not far off the third trimester and conscious of these still birth risk warnings they're shouting about these days..

Yes it's becuase I've got too much on my mind once I've gone back to bed I think. And I'm probably trying too hard to sleep on my side that's it's become psychological! I can fall asleep on my side at the beginning of the night as I have a tendancy to fall asleep reading!

Do you have a pregnancy pillow? It’s the only way I could stop myself going on my back! I struggled until I got the pillow. I’m 32 weeks now and massive and when I’m on my back I feel weird, like I can feel my blood pumping or something. It’s a super uncomfortable feeling so thankfully don’t feel as comfortable on my back anymore as my body seems to struggle with it

I've got a V pillow so using that between knees and bump support (although it's not really supporting my bump atm).

I tried putting it behind my back rather than my front last night but I still ended up on my back, just uncomfortable! lol

Is it worth getting one d'you think? I've always thought it seemed a bit unnecessary!

Definitely! I can’t sleep without mine anymore. I can’t even lie down without it anymore, it’s just so painful and uncomfortable without it.

This is the one I have and it’s wonderful:

I've got the same issue at the moment (25 weeks) but after reading this article it has put my mind at rest. I try my best to sleep on my side the majority of the night but don't beat myself up about being comfy in my back for a few hours.

Hope this helps www.nhs.uk/news/pregnancy-and-child/pregnant-women-should-avoid-sleeping-back-last-trimester/

Ah that's great thank you. That does help. I'm a believer that our bodies wouldn't let us sleep like that if it was dangerous if you know what I mean! And I'm not sure I can bring myself to shell out 40 quid on something I'll only likely use for another month or two. Maybe it'll get uncomfortable in a couple of weeks and it'll stop being an issue!
