Anyone else losing rather than gaining weight in first trimester?

I'm 8+4. Before pregnancy I was hovering at around 60-61kg (I'm about 5'2"-2.5"). Now I seem to be hovering between 57.7-59kg. So not a huge loss but I definitely haven't been that weight as standard for quite a while. I could understand it if I were eating really healthily, but I feel like I'm eating constantly just to stop the nausea, and it's all carby stuff: buns, sandwiches, pasta, cake, rice...

I thought maybe my scales were broken, but I've just weighed a 10kg sack of rice and it came out at exactly 10.0kg so doesn't look like it. I don't think I look like I've lost any weight either: still look pretty flabby when I look in the mirror! Finding it slightly creepy as normally if I were eating like this I'm sure I'd be piling weight on. Is this normal? I'm torn between feeling pleased and slightly concerned. Confused

Lost a TONNE of weight with my first in first trimester, lost about half a stone with my second, this time I lost some in second trimester.
Don’t worry, you’ll soon gain it! 8weeks is early for weight gain, most people just bloat rather than gain weight at that stage

I lost a lot when pregnant due to sickness.

It's failry common.

For me second trimester means a sudden rediscovery of bacon sandwiches so it all comes back.

I'm 10 weeks in and 5lb down. I haven't been eating well at all-lots of junk, but haven't finished a meal in weeks as nausea seems to strike about halfway through a meal.
However I feel bigger than ever, very bloated and nothing fits properly.

Thanks everyone. Reassuring to know that this is quite common and not a sign of something wrong. From what I'd read of most women's experiences I was expecting to put weight on, not lose it, so I was a bit bemused. I'd understand it better if I were actually throwing up all the time or eating really healthily...

It's not uncommon to lose weight in the first trimester due to poor appetite. Unless you were severely underweight to start with, it's ok. The baby is so small, it's energy requirements are insignificant. Once you feel better, hopefully, look at eating the best nutrition you can manage. Lots of protein, healthy fats and fresh veg.

That was exactly me- I was 60kg pre pregnancy, got down to 56kg when I was weighed at my 12 week scan. Didn’t weigh myself throughout pregnancy but I always measured as expected, also had growth scans due to a medical condition and these showed baby was bang on average too (she was 7lb13 at birth). I did carry very small though and didn’t look particularly pregnant until the end. Upside was I didn’t gain any non-baby weight and was back to 60kg and in my size 8 jeans a month afterwards so hopefully that will be you too (I’m not so confident I’ll be that lucky again if I have another)!
