Anyone been on a water birth workshop?

Was it worth going? Did you go on to have a water birth?

I’m so terrified about giving birth (to the point I almost can’t even think about it) but I really do feel a lot better about the prospect of a water birth for some reason. We’re doing the usual NCT course though so I don’t know whether it will be covered on that too.

It's not really covered on the Nct course , I mean it's mentioned but no detail given
I didn't know there was such a thing as a water birth workshop? !
Often however you plan to have your birth rarely actually happens so I wouldn't want you to set your heart on it
How about hypnobirthing.....if you're really scared that could help you ? X

It was covered in a fair bit of detail on my nct course...I also haven't come across a standalone workshop. It wasn't covered on my Nhs course.

We got an email through from NCT to say there was a separate one for water birth we could attend in the local area.

Yep, I think I want to look at hypnobirthing but don’t know where to start. Is it worth booking on to a course? I agree, I think I would probably get my mind set on a water birth and potentially freak out if things don’t go to plan.

I don't think there's any harm in booking on to a hypnotherapy course. I did it and I'm the biggest cynic around. I was pretty relaxed and didn't feel scared during labour. It didn't go as I hoped it would but I'd rather do labour a million times over than the first few months of motherhood!!! X
