Hey so I have my booking appointment with the midwife tomorrow morning.

I’ve been told to set aside two hours but likely won’t take as long.

I have some questions jotted down to ask but would like to ask you all for things you asked or things you wish you had asked.

All help appreciated 💕

Ps. I’ll be 10 weeks tomorrow. I have had an early scan at 7 weeks due to previous mc’s. I have a dating scan booked 3rd April.

It's to fill in your green book. Tbh I don't think I asked anything at all because they throw a hell of a lot info at you in a short space of time. I've got a little brain so didn't take in a lot 😂

I don’t have a green book. I’m assuming I’ll get one tomorrow. X

Mine took 30 mins tops with about 10 to fill in details. To be honest not much happens. They go through medical history, ask you about your living situation/partner, how you are feeling, take blood and urine samples and how you want to give birth. They gave me some stuff to read (most of which was junk Adverising). They don’t examine you. They were very laid back. I expected to be nagged!

I asked about epidurals and what medication I could take during pregnancy for my Ibs. Good luck!

I just had my booking in scan a month ago I'm 12 weeks now. It was kind of rushed to be honest i have a male midwife which also made me abit nervous as I would have felt more confident and comfortable talking to a female especially when asking personal questions like is it safe to have orgasms lol! But i felt he threw alot of information at me then at the end i had to squeeze in a couple of questions which I didn't like as he never asked me initially and really seemed like he was in a rush despite our hour long appointment and time left aswell. Hope yours goes well tomorrow and is well relaxed 😊 X

I’ll let you know how I get on. X

Congrats on your pregnancy Smile My booking appointment was about an hour and mainly consisted of the midwife running through all the questions/info necessary to fill in my maternity notes (the green book) - and yes you'll probably receive that on the day. I brought my partner with me, which was handy because he was able to answer questions about his own medical/family history, which I couldn't have done without him. They also weighed me and took blood samples.

I had it this morning and all went well. Midwife said to stick to the hospital where my scans are until week 20 then I can change hospital if I like.
Also didn’t get a green book as they are going paperless now and I got a print out for today (only because I have a private scan booked) then I can access everything online.

Did blood, urine sample, height, weight etc too x
