Second pregnancy weight???

My little one is 8 months old and I put on nearly 4 stone with her! I ate like horse and it was completely unnecessary Blush I’ve lost just over 2 stone so far but I’m now pregnancy again.... I’m desperate not to put on more weight, is it possible that I could maintain my weight this time or is it inevitable that I’ll gain again? I could cope with a stone but really don’t want to pile it on again! I currently weigh 11stone 11lbs so my bmi is about 27/28 xx

It depends. If you eat like a horse again you will! Were you eating because being pregnant made you ravenous or did you use it as an excuse to 'eat for two'?

@anotherchangetomyname I think I was just being greedy and didn’t eat the right foods, lots of junk. I was probably making the most of ‘eating for two’ which I learnt the heard way is not true! I’m beastfeeding still so worried I’m going to be constantly hungry... I think some self preservation is needed.

With my first I put on 8kg (she was 3.6kg) and I'm now 40 weeks with No2 and have put on 6.5kg

Well done for losing the weight. That's a real achievement, I can understand why you feel apprehensive about regaining.

I put about 2 stone on in my second pregnancy but then the day after I gave birth I was half a stone less than I had been pre pregnancy...although I still looked quite pregnant. I just ate what I normally did, rather than increasing my food consumption. I probably ate better too and smaller portions (they were too big previously). I just seemed to become more mindful of what my body needed. This time is much the same and I seem to be staying the same and not gaining, despite relaxing the type of food I'm eating (I normally do slimming world but it's lapsed due to sickness and fatigue). I'm still trying to be mindful of what I'm eating though even if i do occasionally have a piece of cake or slice of bread. I think mindfulness is the key really.
