AF is late... would some one please stop me from...

AF is 3 days late now, DP and I are trying for DC2, I would really like everyone just to tell me to sit and calm down and not take a test yet, please...

i was 12 days late last cycle.

Have you had stress, change in diet, exercise? a woman coming to live/stay with you who doesnt normally?the more you worry the more it stays away.did you ov late this cycle?

not ill, no, pissed off TBH with DP, that's all. arrr I could just cry, yesterday I was so excited because I thought I was PG, now im sad

EAL- i know its SO horrible, feel like youre being tricked.try to relax, and af may come.

as for the testing, did you use first morning urine, and what test did you use?

At 4 days late, it should show up as positive no matter what time of day you test.

Bummer!

I've been stressed and it's made me VERY late.

Nope. All done having kids, this was in the past.

Even now, lots of stress can still throw off my cycle big time.

EAL-maybe your being pissed off with dp is making you late then? i got worried that i was pg but that it was failing to develop-once i went to the doc the weight was lifted and af arrived next day

Hi, unfortunately af can be late for any number of reasons. If you?re ttc and are stressed about it, this stress can delay ovulation which in turn can delay your period, and sometimes you can skip a period altogether for no apparent reason. I skipped a period about a year ago, and even the gp told me I was probably pregnant, despite the fact all the pregnancy tests I did were negative. My period arrived exactly 28 days after the one I?d should have had.

Sore boobs and nausea can also be a sign of impending af, it?s caused by the rise in progesterone, I also find I?m more tired when my af is due. I know it?s hard, but try to relax, it?s likely your af is on its way and will arrive just when you don?t want it to.

expat, no it wouldn't.

i was having negative tests with dd at 10 weeks! had to be scanned in the end to confirm pregnancy

did you get a positive easily last time EAL? what urine did you use, early morning or later in the day? are you normally regular or have you been late before?

i used the test strips i bought off Ebay - yes, it was first wee of the day.

Always next month then

emilyandlola - understand how you feel I kept getting BFN till CD64 - even took provera to induce AF - thankfull she didnt arrive as bfp. xx dont want to get your hopes up but you never know. hope it is all ok. xx

unusual but not as rare as you'd think as i've met several others on here who had the same experiance.

if AF hasn't come in a week or 2 and you still have symptoms i'd go to your gp and ask his opinion

PT-i too had to be scanned at 10weeks becuase i was so convinced...they dismissed me as young and stupid i think...

Do you think it could be too soon after the birth of my daughter?

She's 7 months old, ive been having regular periods for 5 months

they only scanned me to check if i needed a d&c as they thought i'd miscarried.

my gp believed me but the hopital staff thought i was just a silly kid one doc even had her hand up my fanjo and said 'well i can't feel anything and if you were more than 6 weeks i'd be able to so you've probably just had a mc' that was at 9+4!

not saying all this to give you false hope EAL but it is important you take folic acid and treat yourself as pregnant unless your find out otherwise

it wouldnt mean an ectopic or any thing horrid would it? Not having an AF but also not producing enough Hcg to make a +ve?

could still be pg, not all babies show up although may also just be stress. Ds didnt show up on a test until I was 9wks pg also had a missed mc which didnt show I was pg until 8wks then had another scan at 15wks but baby had stopped growing around 10wks. So not all babies will show within a couple of days of being late.

generally if you're having pg simptoms this is because of hcg levels, so generally, if you're having simptoms, then there is enough hcg to trigger a test.

agree that there are instances where pregnancies aren't detected, but they are not the norm, and although there are people on here who have not tested positive for several weeks, there are far more who have posted to say their af is late and for whom it has arrived days/weeks later.

again, usually but not always.

i was far more ill with dd who didn't show on multiple tests than with ds who showed on a home preg test
