Things like this which make it hard for pregnant women to get taken seriously in the workplace.

Brownbear84 · 26/01/2018 20:22

What do you mean @lovelystar xx

OP, if you’re a September due date why not join us on the thread in the ante-natal clubs bit.

Aspergallus · 26/01/2018 20:24

Ignore that dickish response above...

I feel just the same as you. 2 previous pregnancies, no issue, no sick leave. This one...man...the nausea, the fatigue...I'm like the walking dead, can't even drive. Sleeping 16+ hours a day. Has been like this since I missed my period. Now nearly 10 wks with marginal improvement. Horrible. Feel like I'm not really alive, IYSWIM.

SaltK · 26/01/2018 20:26

I think that's a bit unkind, lovely star. This isn't the workplace, it's a forum for pregnant women to offload and get support.

And yes, brownbear, I've had 4 pregnancies where I've felt absolutely horrendous from the word go. Just hang in there, it'll probably wax and wane, and if not, you can do it, you know it's worth it in the end! You can always take some time off. Someone said to me lately that you should be able to use maternity leave during the first trimes as well because it's so awful!

lookingforaline18 · 26/01/2018 20:26

Seriously lovelystar? Biscuit Pregnant women should be taken seriously. It's not the pregnant women who cause the problem though. It's the people with the prejudice thoughts that cause the problem.

Brownbear84 · 26/01/2018 20:26

What did she actually mean???? Gone quiet now!! Yer I'm due September where do I find that thread please? Exactly how I feel,it's actually horiffic I'm in bed now! Been here since 7pm xx

Sorry, it's just hard as so many workplaces don't understand things like this can happen suddenly after not happening and paints us pregnant people as drama queens etc. It's not a dickish response it was not aimed at the OP in a nasty way at all but if that's the way you choose to see it Hmm

Brownbear84 · 26/01/2018 20:29

I get you now,I am 6 years older this time too maybe that's the reason! I'm secretly hoping this one is a blue one too,but I don't mind either way xx

I seem to have been misunderstood my bluntness was aimed at every prejudiced/s minded businesses/jobs not the OP. I guess you can have a resting bitch face online aswell as in real life Sad

lookingforaline18 · 26/01/2018 20:31

Brownbear, I'm secretly hoping for a pink, also won't mind either way. I'm 5+5 so just a day ahead of you 🙂 I have no sickness yet but I'm very tired and sleeping a lot.

lookingforaline18 · 26/01/2018 20:33

Oh no I'm 5+6 actually. Haha. Baby brain already!

fortunacookie · 26/01/2018 20:36

I felt horrendous with my last pg but I was 40Confused

I had a boy !

I got sent home from work cos they had painters in and I couldn't stand the smell !

I couldn't get on buses either ..was horrible

Felt like that most days all way through

Brownbear84 · 26/01/2018 22:05

I am 5 weeks pregnant too and I know what you mean! I only found out a few days ago but already have sore breasts, slight backache, breathlessness and slight nausea. I am back to work next week and want to carry on as normal (don't want to tell anyone until first scan) but I am worried that I might give myself away at this rate! Also I am trying not to get too excited just in case something bad happens (reading Google=terrifying) but everytime I think about the baby, I can't stop smiling!

surreygirl1987 · 27/01/2018 09:27

Haha @lovelystar love your resting bitch face comment! Must say i also thought you were being harsh but it makes sense now!

I'm only 4 weeks and I am already feeling nauseous... hooe that's not a sign that I'll have bad morning sickness in a week or so! I'm a school teacher and my classroom is a long way from the nearest toilet 😣

isthismummy · 27/01/2018 09:28

I'm 5+2. It's my first pregnancy and I feel awful. Totally exhausted, bloated, inflated boobs and constantly hungry. I've also got loads of burning and painful twinges in my stomach. I feel on the verge of tears 24/7 and have zero patience.
