Anyone else got an anterior placenta?

Hi ladies, just curious to see who has got an anterior placenta.
Also are they feeling baby much?

I'm pregnant with my second baby and again have got a anterior placenta. I'm 23 weeks +3 days today and have been able to feel her when I push my hand down near the bottom of my tummy. I often feel her rolling around but it's like she is shy and when I put my hand on my tummy she decides she doesn't want to do anything.

Really interested to hear other ladies views on this. Xx

I have. This is my second baby and it hasn’t made any difference to how much movement I’ve felt. If anything I think I’ve felt more this time. Maybe I just had a lazy baby first time?! 23 weeks is still pretty early though. I wasn’t feeling proper decent kicks till later xx

I have, second baby and currently 24+5, feeling (and seeing) lots of movement but mainly at the sides and lower down, have felt lots since 20 weeks but not much at the front

I had this with my third, placenta had attached to my c section scar too. I never really felt him much. I could see him at evenings and feel him kicking the bed and stuff but I kind of felt a little sad that I hardly felt him like I did worth my others,

24 weeks, have an anterior placenta. I'm feeling at least as much movement as last time, when I had a posterior placenta!

It's crazy isn't it. I do feel her quite a lot but as soon as I try and find her and put my hand on my tummy she usually stops kicking.
It's more of a night before bed when I lie on my back I feel her lots down below even when I put my hand there I can feel it. xx

That's really interesting @TheCaptainsCat I would of thought you feel baby loads when it's anywhere apart from at the front. xx

I have, this is my second pregnancy and I had posterior with my first.
I didn't feel baby until around 20 weeks, however since then I can feel him lots, far more than DD, he's a feisty little thing!

I had one and I think it cushioned the kicks a bit, I quite liked it!

I know @tapismagique I'm not too sure if I would like to see elbows, feet poking out of my tummy as you get bigger. I'm a little freaked out with things like that. So maybe it's good that placenta is at the front!

It’s my first pregnancy and I’m currently 39w + 4 so nearly there. I’ve got an anterior placenta and have felt barely any movements. From 24 weeks I’ve had CTGs every other day to check she’s okay and she’s been fine so far but it is really un-nerving sometimes.

I’ve also been measuring very small (3 weeks behind) but I feel there may be some issues with measuring (was a size 16 when I got pregnant). On Wednesday (39w) I had a scan where they found she was 7lb 4oz so size is fine, legs are 95th percentile but you could see her legs literally in the placenta - she’s kicking that and so I’m not feeling it.

Keep in tune with what the baby does/what foods or movements make the baby move around a bit and keep trying lying on your left hand side because the baby can drop slightly and her legs can move away from the placenta. If you don’t feel anything for 24 hours call your midwife.

Booked for an induction at 40+5 just because it’s causing more stress to have to be monitored daily and she’s perfectly big enough to come out.

I do! At 34 weeks and still only feel the baby in upper and lower tum :) I think that is a blessing though as I'm sure they're training for the Olympic boxing/taekwondo team right now 😂

Aww it can be so nerve wracking especially when it's your first baby @soontobemum2401 but sounds like all is well with your little one. Thank you so much for the advice. I have been feeling her a lot more but don't really get the whole thing about 'counting kicks/Pattern' All I know is that I feel baby when I am sometimes resting through the day but when active I don't feel her much. Also she comes alive at the night time especially when I lie on my back. I can feel her at the bottom of my tummy.

She usually goes wild when I eat sweets. So if I feel a little anxious I try eating them to see if I can feel her.

Looking forward to seeing the midwife in two weeks so eager to find out what I am measuring as I think I am over!

As long as the baby is ok and healthy then I'll be happy!

I have but I am only between 15 and 16 weeks so too early to be feeling movements anyway. I didn't know that anterior placenta meant you were less likely to feel movements so I am glad I have learned that!

I'm on dc 2 with a posterior placenta and and feel a huge difference to dc 1 which was anterior. With dc 1 I only felt kicks externally around the sides and low down. Assume where my placenta wasn't. This time I'm 27 weeks and have seen elbows and feet. Very strange to see!!

I do. I haven’t felt any movement yet and if I have I’m unsure if it definitely is, this is my first baby.
I had a scare yesterday as they couldn’t find the heartbeat at a midwife appointment so prepared me for the worst and went for a scan and he was there moving around and heart beating, I still couldn’t feel it.
I really want obvious movements so I know he’s ok, very anxious now for movement after yesterday x

I had anterior With first and posterior with second and noticed a huge difference. Had 2 episodes of potential loss of movement with anterior as it was so muffled. This time round I feel everything! So crazy what an impact it has.
May be anecdotal but also with anterior P I was totally comfortable on my back all through pregnancy whereas with posterior I’ve felt breathless on my back since about 24 weeks - may be linked?
