Painful ribcage anyone?

26 weeks and for the last couple of weeks my ribs are really starting to hurt.

Fine in the morning but by the afternoon it just feels like there is so much pressure pushing up that I need to lay down just to stretch out, not ideal when I'm sat at a desk at work!

I expected pain like this later down the line, but not yet. Has anyone else had similar and found anything that helps?

This is super common and there have been loads of good threads, if you do a search for rib pain.

It can be linked to preeclampsia but that would show up in blood pressure and urine tests so if they are fine don't worry.

The bad news is, it's your rib cage expanding and there's not much to do except endure! I've had it from weeks 17- 35, on and off. Pregnancy/ nursing pillow can help at night.

Seems to just be part of the joy of pregnancy Smile

I was told it's trapped wind when I was pregnant. Maybe look at your diet to try to minimise it and drink lots of water. I also found yoga helped with aches and pains during pregnancy

No idea why I didn't think to search, baby brain!

Thanks ladies

Blood pressure has been fine, saw midwife today and she wasn't bothered about urine test, said just to check at my next appointment in 3 weeks.

Definitely not trapped wind, I'm used to that having IBS haha!

I'm on the hunt for pregnancy yoga locally but annoyingly most round here are later in the evening when I want to be in bed 🙁
