We had an early scan today due to previous DS (no3) having a genetic deletion
Anyhow, 6w+2 as of today
Generally everything fine as in baby there and a heartbeat showing (60+ bpm, Dr expects that’ll increase over next week)
However, Dr mentioned the yolk sac is enlarged at 6mm and there is a slight increase in miscarriage risk
I take from this that there is an increased risk of miscarriage but at the same time currently the pregnancy is viable - there was mention there is a chance the pregnancy will develop and the yolk will normalise
Booked in for another scan in 2 weeks now to check development
DW is now beside herself with worry
Typically google has some scary stuff on it about enlarged yolk’s
Does anyone have any experience in the above and possibly something positive I can pass on to DW
