So i have received a leaflet that is telling me that at 16 weeks i should begin to feel the baby move. I haven't felt this yet at 16 weeks and two days.

I might be a little impatient but i wanted to hear everyone else's stories about the first time they felt their baby kick? Its so i know what to look out for. Do u feel it without putting your hand on your belly? Or do you have to feel around and get the right moment ?

Thanks in advance Grin

I have an anterior placenta and didn’t feel anything much until 22 weeks. I also never really felt kicks, or pops, or bubbles. Squirming might be the word? Or feeling like a slightly odd tummy. Baby’s speciality appears to be what I can only describe as ‘looming’: I think it’s him stretching and from quite early on I could feel what was either a bum or head sticking out one side. I also feel this weird back and forth which I can only imagine is him rolling.

I got a bit concerned as I just couldn’t seem to identify the movement pattern. I discussed with midwife and downloaded the kicks count app, and tracked for a few days. I counted anything that was baby as movement, and stopped labelling it as kicks. After just one day it was clear that I did have movement, I just had to learn to recognise it.
