Is it obvious when your waters break / leak?

I am 37 weeks. I was sitting cross legged on my bed and when I got up there was a small wet patch on the bed. It was about 10cm in diameter. My knickers are damp, but not wet. It doesn't smell of anything... I'm confused.

It was for me, I gushed and gushed and I don't know how people in the room didn't drown but mine were broken as part of induction

I wasn't sure either, I was in bed and thought I wet myself a bit. Phoned the hospital and they asked me to come in and they tested the fluid with a ph stick or somethingand it was my waters. I had no idea. Good luck Smile

Mine went pop and the effect was just like a water balloon bursting

You can get tears higher up

The midwife gives you a pad that detects water leaking as there's a chance of infection

My waters were pale pink both times and trickled slowly at first then burst very obviously. Put a pad on and see if it continues.

Thanks all. Rung maternity unit and was just told to put a pad on and monitor it
