I'm about 4 weeks 6 days pregnant and i have been stupidly taking more tests hoping to see thr line get darker but over the last couple of days the line has stayed the same! I got them from eBay has anyone else had anything similar or is this a bad sign?

Definitely positive but not getting any darker.

Firstly congratulations. Secondly acouple of days won't make a difference to the hormone level. You'd be better waiting a couple of weeks. Also it's best to test first thing in the morning when your urine is stronger.

These bulk tests never got any darker for me (and I was carrying twins). But bare in mind the first ones have had time to fester and darken compared to the newer ones. FRER did darken but not as much as I thought it would, I really don’t think it means anything to be honest

BigBaboonBum · 19/12/2017 09:51

Bear in mind, not bare!

noodlesandtomatoes · 19/12/2017 09:53

It's positive, that's all you need to know. Stop testing now!

BigBaboonBum · 19/12/2017 09:56

Good advice! It just drives us crazy

Gizmo2206 · 19/12/2017 09:58

I kmow I know! I Think it's because I have had a missed miscarriage found at 12 week scan a few years back that I'm almost trying to prepare myself for disappointment or something.

I’ve had a mmc too, I think that’s what sparked my obsession. But honestly just enjoy your pregnancy! They are really good lines for those tests, better than mine were! :-)

EastDulwichWife · 19/12/2017 12:05

Stop testing! You're pregnant! Book yourself in for a reassurance scan at 8-10 weeks if you don't think you can wait till 12. Congratulations. Flowers

FourForYouGlenCoco · 19/12/2017 12:16

Those tests are good in terms of telling you whether or not you’re pregnant, but rubbish for comparing line darkness. I was well over 7 weeks before the test line got anywhere near as dark as the control line. Don’t think it ever got to quite the same colour, and I’m now 22 weeks so it didn’t make any difference Smile agree with EastDulwich, book in for a private early scan in a few weeks time, much more reassuring!

PasstheStarmix · 19/12/2017 12:18

I have to admit I was like OP and learnt my lesson. I was so scared I wasn't really pregnant and the tests were somehow wrong or showing the hormone as maybe it wasn't a true pregnancy. I just couldn't believe it and just have taken 5 within 3 days! I thought I'd look like a right idiot at my scan and no baby would be there!!

PasstheStarmix · 19/12/2017 12:18

must have *

CL1982 · 19/12/2017 12:18

I think they all have different dye amounts in different batches...the best line progression i ever had was on Frers which i got in bulk so cheap or it gets pricey. I should pop the tests down, give it a few days and then try again if you feel you need to.

Nikki2ol6 · 19/12/2017 15:18

Those tests can take a while to dark so I wouldn’t worry too much

Gizmo2206 · 19/12/2017 15:48

I went and got a digital one and it came up 2-3 weeks which is right as I think I'm 4 weeks pregnant (leaflet said add two weeks). Not going to do anymore tests now.......at least I will try xx

Definitely positive but not getting any darker.
