Hi I’m currently roughly 20 weeks pregnant I’ve tried ringing my local gp for nearly 4 weeks trying to get an appotment but keep saying they are full, I told them what it’s about and they told me it’s not is there anywhere else I can go instead of local
Gp? As they’ve never been very good?

See if there's a walk in midwife place near you, we have one local where we can go just for a chat or for things like the flu jab etc, you may have one where you can go and ask advice, either that or go to your local maternity unit and just explain you want to speak to a midwife, if they can't see you there and then they should be able to fit you in sooner! Gps are useless regarding pregnancy anyway!

Babymummyandbump · 19/11/2017 18:07

They are indeed you should be able to book an ultrasound yourself!! As far as I know we haven’t got a walk in midwife my heads a mess and I really don’t know what to do same happened with my daughter, then I just put it to one side I don’t want my parent finding until I know everything’s okay with the pregnancy

You seem from mansfieild area? Have u tried taking a test into ur gp to prove it? or moving practitioners?

JoJoSM2 · 19/11/2017 18:32

Thanks Bluename Grin

What catelliot suggested is good advice. Phone 111 and they will be able to get you an appointment with a GP. It might be out of hours, but as it's not an emergency, I'm not sure how it works.

Regarding letters through the door. I believe you will only get one for a scan date (you could phone the hospital and tell them not to write to you, but just confirm over the phone).

Lozmatoz · 19/11/2017 19:16

You don’t need to see a GP. They won’t confirm your pregnancy. Ask for the community midwife number.

Babymummyandbump · 19/11/2017 19:25

Will 111 deal with it then? As I’m not a big fan of gp anyway

If you’ve had periods throughout your pregnancy how do you know your as far on as 20 weeks?

Babymummyandbump · 19/11/2017 20:04

Because only had sex once in a year didn’t really wanna go in detail 😂

CrossFreelancer · 19/11/2017 20:04

I'm not sure. It's not an emergency... However your situation needs sorting. You need to see a midwife urgent. I don't quite understand why it's been so difficult to get an appointment with the midwife though.

dangle90 · 19/11/2017 20:05

Ahh I see, that pin points it then 😂

QueenAravisOfArchenland · 19/11/2017 20:09

Have you told the GP surgery that you are 20 weeks pregnant, and you need urgently referred for a scan?

If you haven't, do that. If you have, ring again and tell them you are coming down to the surgery and will not leave until you're seen.

Babymummyandbump · 19/11/2017 20:09

Yeah 😂 sorry for detail an becuse they keep saying they are fully booked I’m just in w situation that I don’t know what to do
