What were you doing when your waters broke?

I was 33 weeks and at work! I wasn't sure what it was at first Blush

Choccyhobnob · 25/10/2017 12:11

Kneeling on a pillow on the floor of the delivery room about 20 mins before giving birth. The release of pressure was so good!

Sleeping.

1st time (38&6) awoke from a nightmare with a contraction and my waters gushing out of me- like a poster above I suddenly was able to move really fast, force my husband out of bed and strip the sheets (I heard they can damage soft furnishings- no idea if it’s true). Second time, well nearly 40 weeks and still waiting...

You just know!

It just keeps trickling there’s no way to stop it.

It kind of feels like when on your period and you can feel it trickling out but on a bigger/faster scale Grin

When they started to go slowly I was in bed, when they properly went with the full whoosh three hours later I was on the birthing unit about to be examined, DD arrived just over three hours later Smile

annlee3817 · 25/10/2017 12:48

ohnaturescourse mine was just little gushes, I just knew because it didn't feel like wee and I had no control over it each time more gushed out. They were also slightly pink tinged too

Scoleah · 25/10/2017 12:50

With DC1 I’d got up for a wee, and jumped back into bed and thought, that’s strange I’ve just weed myself again! Then I clicked and give birth 2 hours later

Had them broken on DC2 when I got induced!

Notreallyarsed · 25/10/2017 12:54

DS1: midwife was examining me to see how dilated I was and they went pop.

DD: went a wee bit in the living room and then as I got out of the car in the hospital car park they went properly sodding new memory foam slippers had to get binned

DS2: the midwife was just getting her gloves on to check me and waters went swiftly followed by DS2!

No 1 in labour
2 in the video shop 11 weeks early Shock
3 in my sils Lounge.
4 in bed
5 during c section.

Very varied experiences Grin

OnNaturesCourse · 25/10/2017 21:13

See, I'm using bigger liners just now and they have been sodding damp on/off for a while. I can't feel it as the liners are extra absorbent. When I don't have the liners on I get wet whenever I stand/roll etc... Soaks through pants and onto trousers at times.

On the doorstep as I was about to take my husband to the station! He didn’t go to work that day but was 56 hours until little pickle made an appearance Hmm
